INC was sure that it would get decimated after all the scams came out during UPA 2. Kejriwal and AAP (not IAC) was their last roll of the dice to prevent Modi from becoming PM. As Lenin said, "the best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves." What INC didn't account for was the USHV, which made Kejriwal and other assorted kacchra (3rd &4th front) irrelevant in 2014. Political parties are just a representation of our society which is corrupt at every level . I cant stand the guy Kejriwal , but I think hes as corrupt as any of us . Typical Indian middle class mentality , am sure like most people hes convincing himself that there are others who have scammed thousands of crores so 50 crores in comparison isnt a big deal , just like how 99% of salaried class think its acceptable to show fake HRA bills to avoid tax as long as you get away with it . I dont think people voted him to have a honest govt , no one really cares about that in India . What people want to see is some of these rich guys industrialists/politicians caught and thrown in jail , no better feeling than seeing a rich guy suffer , they are all corrupt after all . The other factor Delhi women from FB generation, have never seen women being so vocal about any elections but for last 2-3 years in Delhi , they all hate BJP cos may be they think they will not be allowed to wear short skirts in public lol. They all came out voting probably the reason Delhi recorded 65+% turnout in 2014/15. Then offourse we have our minorities who thought they found an alternative to Congress .
