Rahane can’t score at home, nor can he score away from home. So where the hell can he score? A batting average of only 27 for almost 2 years is extremely bad for a specialist batsman. Also, the fact that he has a grand total of just ONE century in 36 times he's gotten to bat is really pathetic as well. He should not be an automatic selection in the playing XI any longer.

It's the right time to give young batsmen like Vihari, Nair, Bawne & Iyer a go in the middle order, give these guys a lot of chances. We are not achieving anything by sticking with under-performers like Dhawan & Rahane.

Rahane needs to go.  This is beyond a bad patch.

People have said this before . Rahane has hardly had a string of successes even before, he scores in 1 or 2 games and goes missing for the remainder of the series.

Had Kohli failed this series like in 2014, people

would be calling Rahane the best or 2nd best bat for his 2 50s.

we can’t afford someone so inconsistent in an already fragile batting line up.

Rahane doesn’t need backing in LOIs and still they try to accommodate him as the floater etc and in tests he gets dropped despite being the vice captain when he should have been backed  and now when he should be dropped they will most likely  back him.

We can blame selectors, individual players COA BCCI but the team management and captain are fking us a lot more with some boneheaded moves.

Kohli is an exception who performs in all formats, but is it so remarkably difficult for test specialists like Vijay, Pujara, Rahane to give results in even one format where it suits their style of play?

Rahane won't make runs at home, struggles a hell lot against spin. His silky touch, timing & placement suddenly betrays him. Doesn't have a power game, won't even contribute much to the team's cause. If we get a good performer from Ranjis who replaces him & fails, then there'd be yelling & shouting that how a kal ka chokra has replaced a proven test performer. The young guy would be thrown out & Ajinkya #2018gonnabemyyear Rahane wil be back.

Malnourished Rahane has worse stats than Cook in the last few years yet it is the latter who has done the decent thing and retired.

Rahane is just a modern day Manjrekar, weak and timid with the smell of defeat lingering around his dopey demeanour.

I agree about the timid part lol
