If that's the case then whole batting unit has been caught with their pants down especially Rahane, Rahul and the one and Vijay you cant expect rookie in these conditions to score against brandu where even likes of hahane has failed.

Dhoni played almost every decent innings of his career when he walked in at 300-5 type situation. I won't blame Pant when entire top order fails and leaves tailenders to face rampaging bowlers.

and he is not batting at the top and most of the time he came in when the ball was more than enough old

Pant was played because Saha was unavailable .... it was like pick your poison situation - Karthik or Pant .... it is better to try a youngster than a TTF .... when Saha returns, he should take the gloves .... Pant can still be a prime candidate for LOIs

All i wanted to say is dhoni was fine keeper batsman even in overseas. And currently i dont even want him to play any format of the game.

just want him to focus on his keeping and batting... need to do some basics properly for couple of years...and specially not to do drama and showbaazi on or off field like his teammates...

Is expected to replace Dhoni in LOIs though esp. in or after the 2019 WC

This England test series has been very difficult for batters of both sides.  

 

Need to give time to ALL young players with potential.  Can't judge them till they play 10 to 15 tests atleast.  

 

Select players after careful deliberation ... then back them strongly.

 

Pant needs to be backed.
