But his strike rate of 91 is good. He could be coming down the order and had to slog at the death and got out perhaps. 11 List A games is too small a sample size. Pant also has a better FC record in his favor.

But not writing Rana off or anything. Just saying, he cant be considered in the reckoning as of now. This is a good start. He has to do well and become consistent in List A games and also improve FC record to have a shot at getting selected for ODIs.

Pant batted ahead of Rana in every match. Yes Pant has a better FC record but Rana was averaging above 50 last season one poor season caused in to drop.

Next Suryakumar Yadav so far.   Good for attractive 40s and 50s.   Yet to be seen if he can be consistent.

What more do you want in T20s?

one of the few left hand bats we have ... He was a bit slow against bouncers. Hopefully if he figures a way to survive, he could be an option in ODIs atleast

Playing really well here. Mumbai have pulled out a rabbit out of their hat.

He was prospect even before he played IPL. Was highest averaging batsman for Delhi in Ranji trophy last year. This season was average for him.

Fact that MI backed him despite a mediocre lead up to the tournament and even gave him chances higher up in the order says volumes about MI's talent scouting. Remember, last year they similarly unearthed Krunal Pandya and before that was his brother Hardik.
