What is Kohli and team management problem with K L Rahul?

Do we need 6 batsmen against SL ? On flat Indian pitches you take the load off your bowlers especially with an important away series , that's sensible and actually being aggressive .

We went with 5 bowlers in the first test. How many overs did our 4th or 5th bowlers collectively bowl in both innings? How many wickets did they take?

In the second test, our sixth batsman scored a century and our 4 bowlers bowled out Lanka twice in less than six sessions.

So to answer your question, yes, six batsmen is a better strategy vs Lanka.

Kohli told his logic. The reason he batted first. He hoped the pitch had something on it and his batsmen get decent outing before the overseas tour. I think he has the bowling line up fixed in his mind, Shami, Ishant and BK. I think he is still not sure which batsman to pick in the final XI overseas

Even normal people on twitter these days are smarter to tell how dhawan n rohit fall behind others in test format and their selection ahead of others make no sense

Rohit most probably will not be in the XI over Rahul. They are just testing him

Actually that happened  quite late, half the world realised the importance of wrsit spinners long back and it took a CT loss for kohli to have that realisation

Still had balls to drop 2 established stars who played with for a long time and still young

Well let’s see how new spinners do away from home . I am hopefull. But rest assured in odi fixtures since ct ashwin and jadeja also would have done well

but I agree in white ball cricket wrist spin is way forward

the one big mistake ( don’t believe kohli has power to drop dhoni )kohli making

Thing is though this isn't a one off bad judgement from Kohli and management.

Rahul has been unfairly dropped from odi and T20 team as well.Infact he can't even get into odi sqaud even despite Kohli being rested. And in T20s it's even worse somehow considering he is our second best bat behind Kohli.

At some stage it has to stop being a mistake and start being intentional, and targetted unfairly .

Rahul has the potential to outshine Kohli as an all format batsman, he isn't a flat track maestro unlike Kohli either, he can play under pressure and on difficult tracks like he showed against Australia early this year. How can Bunty Sajdeh and Kohli allow such a talent to flourish? Plain jealousy and creeping insecurity on Kohli's part. He did the same with Ashwin in tests by deliberately under bowling him after Ash had racked up 7 MOS in no time.

I know people don't realize this, but people who reach at the top become the most insecure people around.

There's too much power given to Mumbai and the clowns are misusing it. Shastri's pulling all kinds of tricks as he wishes and for Gavaskar to back that decision in the commentary panel. Until and unless we don't kick out all these players starting with Dhoni, expect to see the same team in the next worldcup. They are like a one-big joint family and will always find a way back into the team.

I thought this series was specially prepared and scheduled to make pujara look good . O wait sorry make Rohit look good . O no ashwin look good

or maybe for bcci to keep their politics allies Sri Lanka happy for icc votes and help make an impoverished Sri Lanka board a bit of good money

SL is not getting any money from this. This is an Indian home series, not SL. BCCI will make money from this. SL won't.

That maybe true but it is the responsibility of the management to make sure right players are getting selected. Both Shastri and Gavaskar have been shameless with their jobs, just pushing their own agendas.
