fineleg
Just curious - who is ICF's choice (skills as a better bowler as it stands now) between Navdeep Saini vs Ankit Rajpoot? (assuming both were available). Also are they both similar bowling speeds? Edited December 14, 2017 by fineleg Link to comment

Every visiting team has been getting whipped on almost every tour. Why are we making such a big deal about India being home track bullies? That way every team is a home track bully. At least this bunch of selectors and captain are doing something different and trying to adapt themselves to the conditions. They deserve some appreciation at least JaFanatic, Masquerade, express bowling and 1 other 2 2 Link to comment

I have watched Ankit Rajpoot bowl in quite a few FC and IPL matches. He is a tall pacer, maybe around 6'3" and gets some bounce. His pace is not consistent ... can bowl quick in T20s but his default pace is 130 k to 142 k. He is a steady and accurate bowler but his ability to take wickets has dipped in recent times. He can swing the ball when conditions are conducive. I have not watched Saini bowl much in recent times. Saw him in a Ranji match 2 years back. He was getting good bounce and was reasonably accurate. Looked fast-medium to me. His action has probably changed a bit in the last few months and he is trying to swing the ball more and not getting as much bounce ( from what I have seen in videos ). But, he has done better than Rajpoot in terms of wicket-taking ability in the recent A-team games. speedheat 1 Link to comment

Ankit is dangerous exactly like Avesh and both are similiar type of bowlers with avesh may be a bit faster. These fastish bowlers with BIG BUILT(avesh/ishant/ankit/aniket) will bowl 5 average balls but one ball out of the 6 balls will be a deadly ball which will eaith rise suddenly from good length and will become unplayable so it makes sense to always have a tall bowler in your eleven. africa used to play a 120 to 130k trundler , i am forgetting his name,,tall slow bowler Bald and used to be in team bcos of the color limitations and he used to bowl average but suddenly get a wicket. in short height does help for fast bowlers. siraj is highly skilled wicket taking and bowls fuller ..may give runs but will fetch wickets and is not too fast bowls around 130 to 142k and he is a rhythm bowler. Thampi is yorker specialist possibly a bowler only for ODI's and t20's due to his yorker bowling skillset. he has some pace too but i see him as a odi bowling specialist..may be faster than siraj on average as he has the uncanny capability to touch 144-145k too. i like avesh the most but also like Siraj as he is renowned as a SNAKE bowler who kills batsman before they score. He is known to be a brainy bowler too. Link to comment
