Trichromatic Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Is it good enough for us or did we give away maybe 50 runs extra to them? Bhuvi - 4/87 Ashwin 2/21 and a run out Shami - 1/47 Pandya - 1/53 Bumrah - 1/73 Panday and Bumrah gave away 126 runs in just 31 overs for 2 wickets.
surajmal Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 6. Considering they were 3 down for 12 and 5 down for 150 odd, SA should have been 200 all out.
wanted_desi Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Shami didn't start well, after having them down 3 for 15, it was matter of taking one more wicket to expose tail with new ball. Hopefully, we can take small lead this inning. LORD_analyst 1
flat_wicket_bully Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Very poor bowling performance, they should never reached 200 on this pitch
asterix Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Captaincy not up the mark. Spinners should’ve been used more and in the middle of the innings. Maharaj & Ranada we’re allowed to score free runs... sandeep 1
kira Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 It was a fine performance, satisfied with all the departments except the slip catching CG, Cricketics, express bowling and 2 others 1 4
Stuge Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 considering 12 for 3 and 286 all out ...Imo its a decent performance but they should have got them out under 200 but we allowed them to score over 250.
CG Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 should have kept under 200 but our pacers hardly ever perform to that level, very scratchy bowlingWhat do u expect with no preparation.

maniac Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 if You had told Indian fans on ICF yesterday that we would have South Africa 286 allout In day 1 50% would have been excited and 50% would say you are out of your frickin mind. Gollum, MechEng, SecondSlip and 1 other 4
gattaca Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 230-250 would have been ideal. too many runs from philander , maharaj and rabada.
adi B Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Decent but had dhawan taken that catch we'd have got them all out by 250 .the last 4 wkts didn't cost much because the pitch flattened out
Laaloo Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I'll let you know after out first innings end express bowling 1
zen Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 (edited) Satisfied .... In cricket (or team sports in general) there is no formula where if x wkts fall before y runs, the team should have been bowled out for z. At times teams are 150/2 and get bowled out of 300. At times, they are 50/4 and get 300. If formulas worked, Ind would not have won that Kol test vs Aus I am not watching it live but pitch usually becomes easier in the 2nd session. It is a good performance for now and would become very good if Ind can go through the day without losing a wkt Edited January 5, 2018 by zen express bowling and MechEng 2
philcric Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 With the positions they were in, 12-3 and 142-5, should have got them out for 225 max. 60 runs too many. But still, it's not too big a score. The trick for any visiting team anywhere is to be in the game for as long as possible, and not to worry about ideal situations. The visiting teams cannot be expected to do everything right and boss over very good home teams. Applies to SA/Eng/Aus too when they visit India.

chewy Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 No questions, SA would be 200 all out had Dhawan taken simple catch would have changed dynamics of the game It’s just to common now, that these morons dropping regulation catches sandeep 1
Gollum Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 It was a pretty decent performance by our bowlers considering our catching standards. I would have taken even a 375 before the start of their innings LOL.
