Austin 3:!6 Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 What a day it was. Like all Ind-Pak game it had hype, anticipation and excitement. That Kohli's six over covers of Hasan Ali was the moment of the match for me. I still remember the day like yesterday. It was a blazing hot summer in London and there was Derby race on previous day. I got back home from Epsom racecourse via London Bridge station around 9.30pm in the evening on 3rd june. Switched on the tele only to find out that there is a terror attack in London Bridge just 30 mins after I left. I remember watching the news up until late night and then wake up early in the morning to get ready for the game. Got freshened up and went to the nearest grocery store to get lots of snacks, sandwiches and beers for me to cherish the entire game. My wife was in India at that time, so I was all alone at home. Was doing full mc bc with each Pak wickets with no one around When the game ended, it felt in a way a big satisfaction. Great day...great game. Please let us know: 1) Where were you on that day and what are your memories? 2) What is your best moment of that match. http://www.cricbuzz.com/live-cricket-scorecard/16703/ind-vs-pak-4th-match-group-b-icc-champions-trophy-2017 P.S - This is for 4th June game only. Strictly no CT Final discussion in this thread. . All desperate Pak posters can rejoice on 18th June and open a thread on that day. Scar, velu, Adi_91 and 1 other 1 3

Gollum Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Most impressive memory of that match is Dhawan's batting, pity he got out to a pie...he looked set for a daddy 100 that day. Once again showed why he is the greatest Indian ODI batsman of this decade...Gabbar doesn't settle for cheap runs, he saves it all for the big stage. LORD_analyst, Austin 3:!6 and UrmiSinhaRay 1 2

Trichromatic Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 I have been to India-Pakistan match before (World T20 match at Eden Garden) and atmosphere was electric there. 50k+ people on the road and all you wanted to go in there quickly to grab every piece of action. Before the match, I had discussions with a Pakistani guy a day earlier. Even though Eden produced what can be considered as peak of the buzzing atmosphere for a cricket match, you can easily see the missing part - Pakistani fans. Some travelled to India, but it wasn't enough to make us feel their presence. Only when you saw players on ground, you feel like part of a lifetime event. This is where matches in England are different, you get huge crowds from both sides. I got early experience of that when my Pakistani cab driver cursed Pakistani players for fixing and getting involved in other issues, right from airport to hotel. On match day, I was buys watching other fans before start of the match and when I tried to get in, I realized that I had forgotten the ticket in the bus. When I was going back to parking area, 2 Pakistani guys going towards stadium passed the remark - "Abhi se haar ke wapas laut liye?" That was bit surprising for me and thought it was one off. After collecting the ticket, when I was going back to stadium, I noticed 2 Pakistani guys sheepishly looking at me. I had face painted with Indian flag. Just when I crossed them, the shouted "Pakistan zindabad" twice and started laughing. Just outside the stadium there were fans drumming and celebrating from both sides. A bus full of Pakistani fans had came. During the match, there were 2 Pakistani waiters who were just praying and shouting for a wicket after every ball. We were all shouting at sixes and they were sad. After the match situation completely changed. Pakistan fans were going back silently and all Indians were celebrating. Doubt that kind of experience we can get anywhere else. Austin 3:!6, Gollum, Number and 2 others 3 2

Doubt that kind of experience we can get anywhere else. Been to many games in England but never been to one Indo-Pak match unfortunately. During the CT, I went for Warm up games & Ind-SL, Ind-SA matches but couldn't get a ticket for Ind vs Pak. The day before the finals, I went to the oval to see the teams practice and met Chacha Pakistan there. He was sitting under a tree outside the stadium and was farting non-stop (not kidding). He thought me as some Pak supporter and said 'Beta Kal subah aa jao...ticket dilata hu.' I could sense he was giving full goli...so didn't bother to go the morning. This time I have registered my interest in Family ballot box for 19th June game...so hopefully my application will be successful. Edited June 4, 2018 by Austin 3:!6 Gollum and Forever Indian 1 1
