In the same game another debutant outbowled him fair and squarely.

Anyway I hope you are proven right as his career progesses but I see no hope.

Relax. it is a super patta. See how Rohit and even Pandya smoked their bowlers. Chahar is not a trundler atleast in T20s. He worked hard and upped his pace from 120s and now bowled few in 140s.

Chahar has one of the best outswingers in India now. Not just the degree of swing but the line of the deliveries too.  If the conditions aid conventional swing, he can be very potent. He has a decent inswinger too.

Problem is ... conventional swing is not available more often than not.  Does he have any other tool if the ball is not swinging  ?  I have not seen it yet.

He does not have a high arm action and does not get bounce with any consistency.  Not seen much seam movement either.  Pace is medium-fast with occasional fast-medium spells.

Dhoni did not use him in the death overs at all for CSK.  That may mean that his end-overs skills are not yet developed.

It would be nice if he works on adding skills for non-swinging conditions.

One dimensional medium fast. You'll find plenty of them like him in India. Managed to jump ahead of other bowlers in wait list because of dhoni bhaiyya.Adds nothing to the ODI or t20 team. Maybe if he can bat quite good then can be considered as Pandya's backup.

No. He is here because he did well with India A

he will get smashed like everybody else ,these days you have to be a high quality bowler to have any impact, should look to be skiddy and accurate and hold his nerve under pressure like hassan ali.

He was bowling to Jason Roy, Hales, Bairstow, Stokes, Morgan, Butler not some club level cricketers. That is as destructive batting as you get. On a patta with small boundaries going for 40 is a norm when you open with new ball.
