Pollack Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 (edited) Poor keeper. Ordinary batting. Not reliable. Discuss. Edited August 4, 2018 by Pollack beetle, Laaloo, velu and 4 others 2 1 4
The Dark Horse Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Let the poor guy be. Pant fanboys can bring him instead of Dhawan/Vijay.
express bowling Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 @Pollack What do we expect him to be ? He is meeting my expectations. nevada and velu 2
rkt.india Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 He looked fine in second inning. Got a good delivery from Anderson. We seem to be running around circles instead of accepting that Anderson and Broad England ATGs and at their home, we will truly special efforts to win games.
R!TTER Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 He did fine in the second innings, in fact had he batted ahead of Ashwin we may have had a far greater chance to chase the target.

express bowling Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Now that he has been brought back to test cricket ... Karthick deserves a few chances. Should not drop anyone after one or two games. Switchblade, The Dark Horse, saik and 1 other 4

Ankit_sharma03 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 I wnt drop him after one game, when u give someone a chance give a proper one..... he looked good in 2nd innings , infact better then many batsman.....apart from 1 drop was ok with wk as well....helped VK with captaincy n at this point if anyone takes some kind of burdern of virat its gr8

He shouldn't be the keeper, we can slot him as an opener for Dhawan or Vijay. Drop both if you want KL to open as well, Pujara may come in at 3 with Pant at 6, DK was really horrible to the pacers. GautiMaan Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 How many balls did he drop.. tune will change when those are of edges. Don't know how Pant is with the gloves so can't say whether he will be an improvement but still England showed faith in Curran and were rewarded.Time for India to learn something from them Gollum 1
zen Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 (edited) Karthik is an useful player. However, my selection process is like this for test in no particular order: * Batsmen: Pick the 5 best batsmen based on conditions and form * Bowlers: Pick the 4 best bowlers based on conditions and form. For bowlers form and fitness are very important * WK: Pick the best WK option * “X” Slot: Ideally, by doing the above the team should be optimized to take on the conditions and opposition. Last slot is the “X” slot for me, where I bring in a player who can potentially turn things, provide flexibility, or help to leverage on the strengths For Karthik to be in the 11, he has to be either the one of the top 5 batsmen based on form and conditions, or the better wk option, or the “X” factor Edited August 4, 2018 by zen

rtmohanlal Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 (edited) Karthick has a good track record in ENG though his over all test record is not up to the mark and hence not a long term choice. And him being a keeper also , he deserves his chances.I think he will perform at a satisfactory level if played in all tests.Problem is with other 4 of the top order apart from Kohli, especially that hack Dhawan. Vijay too seems falling apart. His first 5 inns in ENG were superb that covers the utter flops in next 7 inns. Rahul the new comer too adds to the problem Edited August 4, 2018 by rtmohanlal

RT... expect a retort from Khota Now .
WeStMiDz Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 He's just a poor starter. Looked solid last night but unfortunately had to start all over again.
