Its going to be the opposite. Pant will be under more pressure to perform as a specialist batsman. Knowing our moron selectors if he fails he will be dropped altogether without even giving him chance as WK bat in ODIs and Pappu Patel will be brought back as cover.

The selectors have selected pant due to huge fan/media pressure after his performances in recent tests and ipl ,else they wouldn't have as it would mean a direct replacement of godfather msd before the wc .

Now if pant fails in even a couple of odis,pretty sure he won't be selected back before the world cup .hoping he make a it big in the first 2 odis

Very unlikely that Pant will get a game.

With the current team management, easy prediction that Rayudu and Pandey will play at 4 and 5, with Dhoni and Jadeja to follow. 

We can scream all we want for Rahul and Pant to be in the starting XI, but it ain’t happening.
