Virat Kohli requests to BCCI that Team India pacers should skip IPL, rest for World Cup

The IPL Franchises are business entities and the BCCI has no say on how the IPL franchises should use their employees. 

This is a very strange request.

 

Why should the IPL Franchises pay the bowlers if they don't play at all? Can't understand why such a retrograde suggestion gets so much support here.

I think the suggestion is that bcci will compensate the players and not the ipl franchises. They might also be allowed to trade the players out before ipl

What BCCI can compensate players for is the tangible. Their fees.

What about the intangibles that the Franchise may lose out on because of the absence of star players. What about the slackening of public interest and the marginally lower TRPs?

 

This scenario would be a lawyers dream come true.

 

Levity aside, this is just an impossible thing to ask of a Franchise.

3hrs game can be played in monsoon season.

 

More convenient to shift the IPL out of India & play in Aug/Sep

If the bowlers are rested because of future commitments,they will become a liability for franchise and they will not pay big money for them in future. Why should they?It will erode the value of top bowlers.

Unless kohli is ready to fight and get them top pay check for future ipls,this is not fair.

Top batters lke kohli ,rohil ,moonch should rest instead of risking injury.

Rahane should rest permanently from all lois
