Lala Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 I know there is huge boost in India after this historic Test series win over Australia. Let's discuss the insight of Shastri as a coach helped Indian team to get there. India was successful with foreign coaches like Kirsten, but I believe Shastri is much better local coach among all of the other Indian coaches. Perhaps, I may be wrong, nevertheless let's discuss. speedheat, NameGoesHere, velu and 6 others 5 4
velu Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 for tests only * if we consider the process as a main criteria - then no if we consider the results as the main criteria - then yes mancalledsting 1
mishra Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 Shashtri is brave leader for making U turn to everything he used to say and do. infact he seem to have given up on drinking during the match. Zero_Unit 1
wanted_desi Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 Coaches win ****! Pujara and Bumrah gave performances of life to win the series. Bewda did nothing. Unless Bewda helped Pujara or Bumrah, which i doubt.
rtmohanlal Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Shastri is to this Indian team what John Buchanan was to the great Aussie team.
zen Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Tried his best to screw Ind in Aus too by playing KL, Vijay, Rahane, Umesh, etc., .... backed Vihari to probably make Rahane and Rohit look good .... Agarwal was not even in the original squad .... Luckly for Ind, Pujara, Agarwal, Bumrah and Shami clicked to cover for shortfalls Real McCoy 1

What do you think his opaque coffee cups contain ? ( He is suddenly drinking a lot of "coffee" during matches ) Real McCoy, speedheat, maniac and 2 others 5
krisIndianFan Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Shastri's commentary used to be a bunch of cliches repeated based on what was going on.. Tough to say if he is a bad coach yet as the team is doing well, and tough to correate any of the success back to him directly.. maybe we're winning despite him?

Cricketers led by Kohli joins the celeberation band. What you see is Bevada looks sober. Allthough he didnt stay there. May be twitching for a drink express bowling 1

No Lala.... A great coach is not just a MAN MANAGER...shastri is a good man manager..some one who keeps people Positive, but i dont think , he is not the best coach like gary kirstein or few others..
NameGoesHere Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 In the same way that Agarkar was proven to be a better bowler than Akram.....
Adi BB Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Yes he's the best. Now please take him to Pakistan!
Khota Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Shastri is the worst. Kristen or Wright were to notch. Chappel was not bad but desis are not used to western method of coaching.
Zero_Unit Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 I think what you ment to say was is this India's best bowling unit ever? We didn't win sh*t for his coaching. It was because the boys turned up.
