I am a fan of a version of Ganguly that almost no one prefers: Ganguly, the Test batsman. Yes, he has had his flaws in the test game but the way he overcame them and put up a fight in his twilight season (against SA and Pak) was commendable. Also, he was a great test player at the initial stages as well.

Anyone remembers the 3rd Test vz NZ in 1998 @ Hamilton? We were trailing 0-1 and has to win the third test but the target was 415 in about 60 overs or something. I remember watching the match thinking we would be bowled out but the way Ganguly batted with Dravid and went for the mamooth target was the first sign of aggressiveness I seen in the fourth innings of a test at foreign soil. It was an exemplary innings by Ganguly scoring a 100 at run a ball with Dravid also made a great 100. We could only draw the match though but still that innings and that fighting spirit impressed me a lot.

Gangs was very good in the beginning of his career - in 1990s where there was a keen contest between bat and ball - and toward the very end. I remember his 200-odd against Pak toward the twilight of his career. fine innings.

With that said, he was not of the same caliber in Tests as Laxman, Sehwag, SRT and Dravid. Both he and Gambhir had some excellent years and some poor ones, but I can recall more memorable innings from the former: the knock in NZ you mentioned, the century in brisbane that kicked off the 2003 tour, his performance in the 2002 tour of eng, the 50 he made against SA with VRV singh, etc.

Sachin again showing insecurity with how popular his peers were. He is showing disrespect to the second more popular guy in the Indian team after him. He can't go on social media and call him dadi. Its not like Warne getting called Warney. He is patronizing Ganguly on his birthday. Can Ganguly call him and wish him on his birthday Happy Birthday Chotu or Midget

He was my favorite Indian batsmen. I always felt he was underrated due to Tendulkar. In fact I prefer Ganguly and Dravid over Tendulkar. He was a very useful batsmen, bowler, and captain. The dude who truly started the Indian dominance of the game.

Well defined

Yeah western TN has such cool weather  Infact Chennai went through a heat wave because of smoking hot winds from western TN this summer. You are so smart unlike us Chennai dwellers so smart that you wanted to nuke Chennai and jerk off to Putin :phehe:
