Nikola Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 I haven't followed 2003 worldcup which was more disappointing? this or 2003? I think winning against that aus side was tough task but today's loss is hard to digest. Singh bling 1
chewy Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 Hardly, this was an average India team, probably mediocre batting line-up, losing to equally mediocre New Zealand The one that grinds in recent times, is India loss to Pak in CT finals, and India loss to SL in World T20 finals. diehardpacer 1

It was disappointing but when you think about it, inevitable. 2007 obviously nothing comes close to that shock. 2019 we had the cup for the taking, we got a weak team in semis and final would be either against a team that is not mentally strong or a team that we beat in the early stages. This has to be right up there with 1987 as a golden chance missed. MechEng, Laaloo, sandeep and 5 others 2 2 4
Ajju Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 2003 and 2015 semis not dissapointing once as we know they gonna trash us
DGBOSS Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 1996 loss was biggest disappointment, then 2007 then today. velu 1
Cricketics Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 Nothing is more disappointing than 2007 and I don't think something will ever be as disappointing as that. But today's game being a World Cup semi final will definitely hurt. It's hard to gauge and compare all these losses, they all hurt us a lot even though not same, but they do hurt. 2007 surely hurt a lot as we did not see defeat to Bangladesh coming and on top of it, getting knocked out when Ireland and Bangladesh qualified. Today is shocking because we have two of the world's best bats in the team - Sharma and Kohli. We expected at least one of them to lead the way if not both. So all those expectations makes it really tough to digest this defeat.
Suhaan Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 (edited) This is bitter, can't fathom this defeat ,this has to go down as our worst defeats,NZ are as mediocre as is our batting, coming to our batting, this lineup has to be the weakest lineup against swing we have ever fielded Adding salt to injury-our unsettled rotten middle order ,that cant pull out even a 240 chase They suddenly brought Pant,DK ,Jaddu into the mix, which sane TM does that,do you really think they deserved winning this WC? Not counting on TM to make drastic changes to build a new team for home WC ,they are stooges and stooges don't take decisions they follow orders and give massages to Grey Beards Edited July 10, 2019 by Suhaan

This Loss was something that i expected long back but We had a bigger chance in this Wc then 2003 coz no side was like that mighty aussie . Infact most sides are at par only. That 2003 aussie side and other side had a huge gap

Their bowling in these conditions is pretty good though. Suhaan 1

As the tournament progressed it became about 250-275 and then u add Semi final pressure that was a good total. Boullt and henry are good for these condition and yesterday rain gave them some moisture to. Im happy atleast we gave a fight. What m disappointed most is whole Kohli era where resources werent used well. I felt bad for Pant most as we had to years to develop him n gave him experience but we wasted it on TTfs and when time came pant was thrown in deep end. He fell due to lack of experience nothing else Suhaan 1

sandeep Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 2007 was horrific, 2003 was heart-breaking because I was younger and really, really wanted India to win. But from a disappointment perspective, I have to say this one is right up there with 1996. Suhaan 1
CG Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 2003 I knew aus was strong so defeat did not hurt.2007 was sad ,2015 again Australia were strong at home. This time we were the best side and still managed to screw up so I am gutted .
