prinzo Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Injuries last 4 years hampered him from getting to 500 test wickets
Ankit_sharma03 Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 ATG.....Sad injuries impacted his career in last few years. Was a sight to watch while bowling
nevada Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Great career derailed by injuries the last few years. At one point 500 wickets for him looked like a sure thing. Sad to see him go this way. Would have been nice to sign off after playing at-least one full series.
Jimmy Cliff Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Greatest Test cricketer in the world from 2008-2015. A pity about all the injuries in the last 4 years. Otherwise he was good enough for 500 wickets in 100 Tests.
Cricketics Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Bowler you always wanted to watch. Made the test cricket more watchable and lively every time one would think the game is getting boring. Haven't enjoyed watching any bowler more than this guy in last 10 years. Wish he had some more left to offer, but he knows what he is doing with this decision.
Mosher Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 ATG bowler whose career was plagued by injuries. Loved to see him bowl. Sad to see the Steyn gun go.
cricketfan28 Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 hope to see him in ipl, will be a good practice for our talented youngsters.
Moochad Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Him and Mcgrath are the best fast bowlers I have ever watched. Test cricket will never be the same
Vijy Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 An ATG career whose stats underwent a bit of decline due to continuous injuries.
Real McCoy Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Dale Steyn will be an all time great bowler. In a time of batting roads, he has managed to outwit many a batsmen. We should thank him for ending Hitman's test career otherwise he will still be playing as a middle order bat under his old buddy rat
Nikhil_cric Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Kept high quality fast bowling alive in a very dry period (07-13) . In the top 3 to ever bowl fast in test cricket . Those vicious late outswinger s which swung from outside leg to top of off , reverse with the old ball, a menacing skiddy bouncer and of course the ability to bowl faster spells as the day progresses. Probably the last great fast bowler in test cricket.

We need both of them to succeed date I say even in test cricket. The emotional part of me DOESN'T want to see a failed test career for hitman.
