Dont forget S Africa played with one less bowler. Philander was out with injury during the test. If he would have been there it wd have not been easy for lanka in second innings

My development cricket was in a gully. LBW meant a game was suspended right away. Either a clean catch had to be taken or the bricks had to tumble.

All shot were confided to +/- 20 degree arc,

Being so nitpicky will take the gloss of many great cricket achievements . 4th innings is more about mental application than conquering pitch demons or bowlers, it's a battle fought in the mind more than anything else. No one saw it coming, RSA still had the aura at home, Steyn/Rabada/Olivier/Maharaj more than good enough to defend 300+ and even Philander bowled 8 overs accounting for the crucial wicket of Karunaratne in that innings....since Big Vern has never been a world beater with the old ball I doubt he would have made a big difference considering the rate at which the Lankans were going at. Everything about that knock was epic...that last wicket partnership was without a shadow of doubt the most thrilling passage of play in this decade. And it was a chanceless knock unlike Stokes', even more remarkable cos he had channeled Sehwag's atma the way he went about things in a country where Lanka (barring one exception which didn't account for much) had faced only humiliation until that day.

You guys are missing on some of the most embarrassing chokes in UAE by Pakistan under misbah 

It was so fun watching Pakistan chase anything in the misbah era , 18 needed of 10 overs with 6 wkts in hand against saf ,result - a pak loss , 3 required of Maxwell last over - result pak loss lol.

 

T20s I'd go with ind vs bang 2016 wt20 also the nidhas cup finals ,both were nerve wrecking. 

Tests - biased but will go with India vs saf in kolkata ,also India vs England chennai
