God !! That was the most pathetic innings I have ever seen..Rahane should never and I mean NEVER play again in Tests. Fending every ball like a 12th man amateur. Couldn’t leave, couldn’t play, couldn’t do anything. Even Umesh and Vihari looked solid against short ball. 
 

The highest 4th innings chase here is 201 so we still have chance if we can score another 100.Problem is, we will in all probability get rolled out for 130 odd. 
NZ bowlers used the conditions well. NZ last 3 scored 83. That’s the difference!!!!!!

Have been saying this for months.... Built a  TOP7  with 2 format players( test & ODI)  AMAP with  almost equal mix of left & right combo.  Ask them to play positive cricket all the time. The previous era batting unit was more or less like that.What do these Pujaras &  Rahanes bring in other than these type of meek surrenders. All they are playing is just 1 format. Can't do  something even in that.Why? Because they are always in some sort of pressure and hence always play with a negative frame of mind. Bring in 2 format players with lots of variety  &  ask them to bat positively and put pressure right back on the bowlers. Jamieson scored 49 by playing aggressive cricket where as Rahane scored  9 in 43 balls.  .This tells a lot w.r.t what i said.  Give batsmen confidence that way .

First drop b#st@rd Kohli from captaincy and bewda from coaching even before making any change. This is now trend where they keep loosing anything of importance just by their team management style. Let's give captaincy to an youngsters like Dhoni was given at one point of time.

Dont compare individual sport with team sports. Badminton and wrestling are not much followed sport in global arena. In case of hockey, when was the last time we became wc or won decent trophy like champions trophy.

Badminton and Wrestling are more global than cricket. Much more competitive as well.

Okay. But as a sporting nation India has achieved quite well post independence. To come back from the situation and produce great sportsmen a Ross different sports and win major trophies has been a remarkable acjeivement. We cannot compare our sporting acheivements with those countries who were never ruled.

 

Anyways India is a cricketing magnet now, irrespective of the politics and some disaster series happening amidst glory wins.

The worst thing would be when nz win by 3/4 wickets. The catch drop and pathetic batting will hurt more. The bowlers bowled their heart out today.i really was fancying 90/3 at most by end of day. The shot selections were terrible. Just look at Matthew wade highlights. He was uncomfortable with wagner, but took everything on body. Rahane should have showed some guts. Yes you can look ugly, bat terribly but should not throw your wicket like that.

A country of 2nd highest population should have been dominating most of the sports. I know facilities is not upto standards but still its not an excuse.

Exactly !! When you play for your country and are also getting millions of rupees,you should atleast show some spine.That was gutless,pathetic,piss poor,horrible from rahane.Fukker should be thrown out.

Rahane is mediocrity personified. Neither good at home nor overseas. Just averages around 40 after 60 tests, always looks vulnerable against good quality spin or fast bowling. Surely, its time to give someone like Iyer, Gill a chance in the middle order. But given Kohli/Shastri nexus, he will play 100 tests, occasionally scoring a good knock to keep his place in the side. Because they know with him as VC, he will not replace Kohli.
