bowl_out Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Kohli averages 50 in T20I.. Would be a disaster to drop him.. That said his captaincy is obnoxious.. And there are too many accumulators in the team. Changes to be made to the team : (OUT) Dhawan, Iyer, Pandey, Jadeja. (IN) Rohit, SKY, Kishan, Tewatia And make Rohit the captain.. The XI should be: Rohit (c) Rahul Kohli SKY/Samson Kishan Pandya Tewatia Washington Shami Natarajan Bumrah nevada 1

I mean do you think his recent reluctance to bat at good tempo is only to do with captaincy burden? I'd like to think so. Captaincy burden in Indian cricket can be too taxing and he does appear to be restraining himself rather than lack of ability. We see that (mental clutter) with him even in big matches, ICC ODI events, 4th innings chases. Mind will free up if he gives up captaincy in 2 formats, will be better for everyone invested in Indian cricket. Still 3 years of his batting prime left which he can use to win us many matches, him being so stubborn is sad to see. Edited December 1, 2020 by Gollum SK_IH and maniac 2
SK_IH Posted December 6, 2020 Author Posted December 6, 2020 If Virat is the captain till the World Cup, its a better idea for him to bat at 4 instead of 3. Rahul/Rohit/Kohli is just too much sameness. Need to break the monotony atleast. Suhaan 1
putrevus Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Kohli's strength was always about him finishing the innings in shorter formats. If he ceases to be that player he no longer adds value to that team as he cannot over come his slow starts. nevada 1
Real McCoy Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 There is no best t20 xi. t20s need constant rotation. any player should be replaceable certainly the ones over 30. Im not saying he should be left out but other junior players need to be encouraged and no "senior" culture should be encouraged. I'm ok with Rahul or Pandya captaining the t20 side and rohit and kohli playing. This has the added benefit of lowering the load on Kohli who can concentrate on test and odi cricket zen 1
Swag Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Rohit should be captain. One of Rahul/Virat has to play. Rohit Ishan Virat/Rahul SKY Samson Pandya
Majestic Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) What is the obsession with Ishan? One great IPL is enough to warrant a place ahead of Kohli? Samson and SKY have been doing from 3-4 years in IPL and hasn't warrant a place yet. Let Kishan first replicate it in one more IPL season next year in April and then consider him. If anything, we should open with Samson. Edited December 6, 2020 by Majestic OpeningBatsman and Adamant 1 1
ShoonyaSifar Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 The team will do absolutely fine without him. He has not done much in the last 6-7 T20Is, made pathetic team selections, dropped multiple catches, has been poor with his tactical decisions but we have still won those. That's his importance in this team. A figurative head at best who can only destroy careers and keep picking his buddies (listen to him praise Dhawan today who hit a 50 after 15 innings). nevada and Forever Indian 2
