Have a feeling Thakur will get a wicket or two early because Aussies have gotten too used to our pace and will be surprised by a change of pace. Something our fast bowlers lacked in the first two game. They did not vary the ball. Thakur’s change of pace might just also help Bumrah. Not a fan of Thakur but we looked one dimensional and no bowler was varying pace, not even Bumrah in the first two games.

thakurs isnt that slow ,he is up there in 140s early in his spells

Not much he can do in ODIs - its the rule changes that *ed over finger spinners.  You are only allowed 4 outfielders.  If you put up long-on, long-off, midwicket, cover sweeper, the sweep shot allows bad players of spin to bully finger spinners by targeting fineleg/squareleg.  Especially on flat roads where the ball doesn't grip.  No matter which 4 spots you put those boundary riders, batsmen will always have one or 2 boundary areas to target with pre-meditation.

Aussies like pace. He is not as consistent as Shami and Bumrah with pace. Might help. Depends on situation also of the game. Lets hope we get better starts than what we have had in the last two games.

He had chance in 49th over but couldn't hit a boundary. Still a v. good innings from him but he only played well when top order failed.. one time top order was relatively successful, he failed to make it count. Like all our batsmen he needs to come in before 30th over to play a good innings

We will lose, I guess in 45 overs but I loved the fight today. I hope the lower order gets more opportunities with the bat and are ready when the need really arises in tournaments. Hopefully the TM fools realize the importance of bits and pieces players and give more chances to guys like Tewatia, Parag who can easily replace the likes of Chahal and Kuldeep.

Brilliant partnership by Pandya and Jadeja. I guess they both are settled in no6 and no7 for forseeable future.

 

But the pitch looked really beautiful to bat on. Wished the top order had 50 more runs extra. <150 score in these kind of pitches against a second string bowling is almost criminal these days. If Aussies chase this easily, our top order intent has to be questioned severely.

Pandya batting like this is a big positive even if we are getting whitewashed. It would have been evn better if gill hadn't given it away at that stage.
