zen Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Pucovski-Green and Shaw-Gill, the youngsters from Aus & Ind respectively .... which group is more talented considering test cricket? I watched a little bit of Pucovski. Strong on the backfoot, a bit vulnerable on the front foot esp. early in his innings (chance for Shami). Green has a good all-round game. Both of them are confident players. Shaw & Gill have talent but can appear mentally zoned out at times relatively. Shaw can be a hit or miss, while Gill needs a few chances to showcase what he can do (hasn't impressed much at international level yet). At the moment, I feel like giving an edge to the Australian youngsters mainly for the confidence with which they play their cricket (unless Shaw and/or Gill come up w/ strong performances).

The team management is pathetic in handling young talent.Pant should be the first choice wicket keeper but he is wasted and part time reluctant keeper Rahul is played in his place.Rahul knows if he keeps then only he can play or he would be also thrown out of the squad. Prasidh should have been playing in this practice match, but he is no where in the radar raki05 and express bowling 2

He is the next big thing according to many australian ex-cricketers. There must be something to him. Also he can bowl well too. He can be an allrounder who bowls a few as the fifth bowler. My pick is just because of Green. Don't know much about Pucovski. Shaw has brainfade moments too much to play at this level. He is still young so he can improve. Gill has been the most surprising to me. I thought he would do well here. Seems he has the same problem as Shaw. Green has been the most composed of the lot. He has shown maturity at a young age.

Pucovski-Green's fielding and running b/w the wkts are likely to be better too

They can play their cricket at neutral venues likes NZ, Eng, SA, etc.

Sandeep99 Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Let Pucovski and Green come to India and play. I'll reserve my judgement until then. Australian players are all awesome in Australia. Having said that, Green looks the most amazing prospect for Australia. A very good batsman who can bowl over 145 kph. Amazing! Shaw is exceptional in India and sub continental conditions in general. However, his technique will be exposed whenever he travels. Needs to really focus and develop his game to survive tough spells. Gill is easily the most talented out of them all and only Tom Banton comes close in terms of exciting prospects in world cricket. He needs to be backed to the hit and he is someone that can win you big games. The lad has great temperament and is level headed. Just hoping lolli and gang don't decimate his career.

Eng, SA, Nz are very tough places for for openers....so i dnt expect consistency for starters
