neel roy Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 I can bet my last savings that he wont even score a 30 if given six chances. At least rahul scored 169 in last test in england

putrevus Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 So now we have problem of giving too many chances also.If they drop any player after couple of matches then people whine about not giving enough chances but they keep persisting with guys like Rahul, Pandya and Shaw also it is a problem. Shaw should not have been in the test team at all selecting him into squad was first big mistake and his selection in this test is a bigger mistake. OpeningBatsman 1
raki05 Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 He needs to work really hard if he wants to play for India for long time More than technique he needs to focus on his fitness that's even more concerning. Somehow him and Iyer looks same attitude wise. OpeningBatsman 1
Lone Wolf Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 For MCG Mayank Gill Pujara Rahul I'd have backed shaw if he even scored 20 runs here but Aussies have worked him out nicely.

Though he was completely looking out of place in all format of the game. And did exactly opposite when he made 6 50s during aus home tour they dropped him in very next series against SL saying pretty 50-60 will not work. Shastri and kohli are complete clueless in selecting playing xi. Exactly ! This TM do not pick rookies when they are in form and pick them when they are going through a rough patch. While it should be the other way round. Now, an inform Gill is being ignored. They may pick him when he too is going through a rough time. putrevus Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 (edited) Pant also has to be held accountable for not being fit.He became rotund. There is no excuse for young players to become fat and liabilities on the field. Edited December 18, 2020 by putrevus

Looks physically and mentally shot - out of shape and out of mind. Selection is not only about talent but about assessing the whole make-up of the player and the so-called team management have made a massive blunder, and that on the hardest tour. Shaw currently looks like a sad reincarnation of Vikram Rathore. It’s the Mumbai Lobby selection. Sashtri baking him. Won’t be surprised if he ends up playing and screwing up opening batting all the matches. I hope better sense prevails as Rahane, Rohit etc all are from Mumbai. The Mumbai lobby will be strong once Kohli goes on paternity leave.
Gollum Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 Mentally shot. Hope he does well in rest of the match, takes all catches coming his way. raki05 1
figo6762 Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 He should not come to field .. just sub with Gill thru out the match
Gollum Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 (edited) Wanted him to play all 4 tests but it may be cruelty if TM does that. He looks uninterested, clueless, broken.... Edited December 18, 2020 by Gollum raki05 1

Gill Rohit Rahul.. any one of these 3 would have at least played 20 balls before getting out. He is not even leaving balls Gollum 1

Unfair to judge him on the basis of this test where both teams have massively struggled to score runs so far. raki05 1
cowboysfan Posted December 18, 2020 Author Posted December 18, 2020 If Rahul doesnt open next game then we have proof once and for all that mumbai lobby doesnt have indias best interest at heart.
Bigg Brother Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 I am all for giving him chance in 2nd test only if Gill wasnt there. KLR has been tried and tested, that guy havent even cemented place in ODIs. But with Gill in squad, Shaw needs to be replaced in 2nd test. Should be asked to play full domestic season. beetle 1
urbestfriend Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 If they dont want to play Rahul, they can Rishabh as specialist batsman at 6 with Gill opening in next match. beetle 1
wanted_desi Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 Shaw will play next match as well if India wins, they don't like changing combination after a win. Rohit will come for 3rd test and replace Shaw, he hasn't played much lately, 2 test failure for him. KL will most likely replace Kohli, hahah Gill is going to get katora from this tour.
