wanted_desi Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 If Kohli got any sense left and want to win any ICC trophy, he should get Shubman to replace Dhawan at opening position. I know there is no way Shubman can match Dhawan's unique skill of thigh slap and twirled moustache, but he is better batsman than him already at age 21. How can you justify benching someone who looks at better at age 21 against some almost 36 years old guy? Sandeep99, sandsaims, tweaker and 2 others 2 3
express bowling Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Yes ... Gill should replace Dhawan in ODIs.
WC2011INDIA Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Left hand and right hand combo needed. Case closed. Next.

Khota Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Why? Dhawan can outscore so many others and there is nothing that points to him being better than Dhawan.
putrevus Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Since when Gill has become better odi batsman than Dhawan.
Austin 3:!6 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 No...Dhawan is a terrific ODI batsman and very underrated.Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Austin 3:!6 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Gill can play in the middle order though in place of Shreyas Iyer.RohitDhawanKohliGillRahulPantPandya (only if he is bowling...else Jadeja)Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk Ankit_sharma03 and Sgattick10 2
puneet28 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 No. Kohli needs to move to number 4 and Gill should play at 3. Iyer hasn't done anything convincing at number 4. He is vulnerable to short ball. For opening, get Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Aggarwal. They do have some technical flaws but its just a rough patch. They will improve. We need openers who can score quickly at top.

Sgattick10 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Yeah Gill should replace Iyer. Dhawan is fine in ODIs
Sandeep99 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 How dare a young batsman score stylish runs for India?! That too selfless and in the toughest possible conditions against the best bowling attack! Surely a threat to the king.. Gill will be abandoned into dustbin systematically over the next few months... nevada and Forever Indian 2
Sandeep99 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 The Aussies go gaga over average players like Labu and Green. Imagine if they get someone like Gill. It works the opposite way in India. The fans will find reasons to oost him citing some random ODI bilateral express bowling and nevada 1 1
Majestic Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Dhawan is such a fraud that he will score enough for himself and won't get dropped. IMO, Gill in, Dhawan out Pant in, Iyer in KL Rahul bats at 4 as specialist batsman But they will wait for Dhawan and Iyer to fail enough before dropping them.

It works the opposite way in India. The fans will find reasons to oost him citing some random ODI bilateral Labu is not average but a different breed of batsman which is beyond conventional school of cricket. He is that kind of a player who regardless of style or technical ability, demonstrates reasonable defence while also ensuring to score at a positive rate. These type of people are very effective in a team where most batsman don't know how to bat long and those who know, don't know how to score. As long as you don't have 3 or 4 Labus in your team in which case it becomes counter productive (similar to our ODI batting) , you will really benefit from such plaeyers. Imagine if we get a batsman like Labu in our team, we probably would a deficit of 40 runs in the first innings. We thought Vihari can be that kind of an underated but utility player but has been disappointing so far.
RajBan Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 I agree. We need to groom in Gill and Jaiswal for ODI lineup in 2023. Rohit/Dhawan ( can't have both) Jaiswal ( can bowl) Gill Kohli KL Pandya (can bowl) Jadeja / All rounder Kartik Tyagi Bumrah Chahal Natarajan
