this is the squad i want but i am willing to be bet kohli we will do atleast 2 of following 5

1. mayank for gill

2. Ishant for Siraj

3. saha for pant

4. pandya for sundar

5. xyz for kuldeep

I can confirm you Kohli will need lot of courage to do point 1,3. Even with 4 he needs to think as Sundar kind of did everything right in his debut.

Ishant for Siraj is genuine probability and I am ok with that. Ishant has been our most dependable bowler in recent past, so can't really have a hard feeling there.

We have become like England lmao. Picking so many all round players. It's good because we also have 2 or 3 great strike bowlers. I prefer pace. I mean an extra pacer so I would play pandya or Thakur along with bumrah and Shami.

Or Yadav. Whichever. And then 3 spinners

good team but we will miss jadeja. I think he and ashwin are more dangerous as a pair. Also I may be wrong, but sundar's bowling style may not be effective enough for indian pitches. Need a bowler with more variations. would play him at 6/7 though with another spinner, total 3 spinners, siraj and bumrah. top 6 (including pant) i auto select, though I really wish pant improves his keeping. this would be a solid test for him. And I want some doctored pitches, purely for entertainment.

Looks like there is some thinking behind spinners picked . Both Sundar & Axar are Tall guys , Bowl Quicker . If there is turn in the pitch they can be very effective .

Is it to counter down the ground lofting coming down and sweeps & Reverse sweeps ?? Anyway to tie one end  up they are the options in the absence of Jaddu.

The squad was finalised by the newly assembled Indian selection committee headed by former India fast bowler Chetan Sharma. Attending the meeting virtually was India captain Virat Kohli, who had returned home in December from the Australia tour to attend the birth of his first child. Also present at the meeting, which took place hours after India's epic triumph in the Gabba Test, were the four other selectors: Sunil Joshi, Abey Kuruvilla, Debashish Mohanty and Harvinder Singh, who is in Brisbane.

None of them have ever won anything

Twitter says Natarajan is not in the squad because he is taking his paternity leave now.  Hope that's the case and not some whimsical thinking by the selection committee.

Nattu is not a test bowler & we should accept that as a fact.  Porel Prasidh Warrier are so so better options than him.

Nattu is our LOI specialist.

Was hoping he'd still be in as a reserve or at the very least a net bowler - sticking around with the team at all times and learning at the highest level.  But, hope paternity is the reason he is out.
