What's the point of squad selection when they dont select the playing XI from the selected squad?

Nadeem is not even in the squad and he has given the cap over Kuldeep and Axar Patel. What is the point of squad selection?

Bharat Arun was saying that kuldeep will be very handy in India -england series, but when it comes to the playing 11, they select Shahbaz over him. Shahbaz played our last series, and they dont select him, and select Axar. Now when it comes to playing 11, Axar is nowhere in the picture.

OK, Axar is injured so Nadeep comes to the squad. Yet, Sundar is playing ahead of kuldeep dont make sense. Kuldeep can also chip in with the bat if required. Very defensive team selection.

coz sundar is an all rounder, kuldeep just a bowler what so tough to get in that

Nadeem is clearly taken coz he turns the ball away from righty

I dont think Sundar is that useful when there is little bounce. Now Sundar is a capable bat, but if i were to play a batsman, I'd play KL or Hardik.

England batsmen had a hard time facing left arm orthodox spinner in srilanka...hence the decision...

I think..it is a good decision....

Playing kuldeep ahead of sunder will make the batting weak..

This is a good balanced side...

I feel bad for kuldeep but he will get his chances

Sundar job is of 5th bowler not 4th, 5th bowler will mostly be underbowled . His job is batting n bowling cushion which KL, hardik, kuldeep none offer

Th proof of the pudding is in the eating, as long as India wins all is good - only as long as we win!

Axar is injured ... so Nadeem comes in

Nadeem playing ahead of Kuldeep because he turns the ball away from right handers.

Sundar is playing as a batting allrounder at 7 ... Kuldeep can't bat at 7

Good playing 11

The only criticism can be ... Siraj is dropped

But then again ... Ishant is averaging 19 in the last 3 years, so not a bad selection either.

With Axar not there, Nadeem's selection makes sense.

It is playing Sundar ahead of Kuldeep.  In spite of so many injuries, he didn't get a chance in Australia. Now he is not one of the three spinners, in spite of Jaddu's injury.

Sundar is a good bowl when there is  bounce but he doesnt have too many variations like Kuldeep.

When you're playing in India, specially turning pitches, it is important to pick your best 3 spinners.

Kumble+Chouhan+ raju

Ojha+Ashwin+bhajji

Ashwin+jaddu+kuldeep

IF you are playing 3 spinners , select best of them , and kuldeep will be part of that.

That's why I said defensive selection.

Axar is injured but then captain has shown middle finger to Siraj and Kuldeep. Also look at how excited he is talking about pant.

How can they bench Siraj just after he got a 5fer?

Didn't you hear? Ishant avg under 20 in the last 2 years (except all in S.E.N.A.) :whack2:
