rangeelaraja Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 World class in every sense. I've folks who get GCA passes. The facilities are super posh - much better than Brabourne Stadium (CCI) and Wankhede. Until now I thought these 2 were India's best in terms of facilities. Under_Score 1
zen Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 (edited) In test cricket, a good atmosphere, which includes nice stadiums, plays a part ... Hope that it has a relatively sporting surface as well Edited February 17, 2021 by zen

ShoonyaSifar Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Got the tickets for both 3rd and 4th tests Really looking forward to this. Been a while since I watched a test live from the stands. Time to make up for the gap in the next couple of weeks. Hoping to see exciting cricket and not dull boring flat pitches putrevus, neel roy, sandeep and 4 others 3 4
Bigg Brother Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Will go for t20s, Didnt get a company for Pink Ball test although had booked tickets. Looking forward to see a stadium although I had visited it during Namaste Trump last yr. The Old Satdium was very bad.

Paid 15k for a ticket in a sdilapidated stand!
neel roy Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Good. Now just put cherry on top with a win. And make the 4th test more flatter than monaco grand prix track TheWall 1
Lone Wolf Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Pan Bahar & Chaini khaini will ruin the stadium yet again AuxiliA and Bigg Brother 1 1

G_B_ Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 How is the public transport link or even general accessibility. For eg both lords and oval in London are heavily linked to the train and tube (metro) network.

For eg both lords and oval in London are heavily linked to the train and tube (metro) network. They are building a metro which will have a station about half a KM away the stadium. But it's unlikely to be ready and function anytime soon. As the stadium is very close to the city centre (Sabarmati River front), there is easy accessibility through the city transport service. Plus GCA plans to run special buses for the matches from specific routes. G_B_ and Cricketics 1 1
ShoonyaSifar Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 One issue I see is lack of enough gaps between the stands for cross flow of air. Could get very stifling in Ahmedabad heat during the T20s or from early March to end-November. For the Tests, the late Feb weather will be okay - high of 35-36, low of 20-21 putrevus 1
G_B_ Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Thats brilliant then!!! I think one issue i have noted with stadiums like Nagpur is that though they are good stadiums the accessibility is an issue. I do hope they have looked at crowd management issues. Roughly 110k people dispersing or arising at the same time can be issue. If they have thought about it then we really do have a world class stadium!!!

Pune Stadium is the most posh out of them all, even than the new Ahmedabad Stadium. Crazy how people underrate it because the construction of the 3 upper tiers was left incomplete.

Would have been justified if Pune never had temperatures exceeding 30 degrees. Plus how far out of the city the stadium is and how difficult it is to find parking. Facility wise it's a top class stadium.

BacktoCricaddict Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Rivals? Indian stadiums now set the standard. We can talk about other stadiums rivaling Indian stadiums if they can.
