Unfortunate, puts our ability to defend any total in jeopardy.. onus is on TM to deviate from the usual 10 overs of consolidation crap and ask the senioritas to keep hitting and support the flamboyant newcomers.

Injured without playing, joins a long list of players who have suffered similar fate. Questions need to be asked now to our strength/conditioning coaches.

I wonder who these guys are... almost feels as though they're playing for the "other" team and sabotaging us, because so many are the injuries that have come up in past 1-2 yrs.

He got injured without even playing..  As far as I know he didn't played in VHT as well.

Shardul & Saini both would get to play then.  Bhuvi the death specialist becomes vital now.

Probably didn't play VHT because of injury.

So he got injured after playing 1 test match that too which he played after a few weeks gap from the last t20i in Australia.

Did he play SMT and missed out on VHT?

our players are really nazuk kalis

You dont get injuries only in matches. Most injuries happen during training and conditioning. Its like you go to gym every day and suddenly feel a niggle in your shoulders or knees. You then need to rest.. for elite sportsmen this is common.. and to be honest Natarajan was our net bowler 2 months back. He was never even in our team. How weak is our death bowling that in 2 months he has become the most important bowler in our team that we have a page on this..

This is happening because apart from Bumrah, our other top fast bowlers do not want to master death bowling. (  I don't know why )

So we have to go to second rung medium pacers who have mastered slower balls.

These are two completely opposite skills. Even Bumrah struggles with his Yorkers since he became test regular.  Muscle memory needs to change every time you shift from one format to another. We need to create specialists for different formats.

Yes i agree but it’s easier said than done. The reason is because India doesnt let its bowlers play in foreign leagues. So they have 2 options. Syed Mushtaq Ali and IPL. The former dont have elite batsmen in many cases. In The latter the spots are limited and you are thrown out after 2 bad matches. Eg Tushar Deshpande. There are state level tournaments ( TNPL KPL) from where some emerge like Nattu and Varun C. But thats not a set supply chain.

Compare this to other nations. Each bowler plays 3 to 4 foreign leagues where the batsmen may not be of IPL quality always but at least not bad either. So Chris Jordans of the world get aquainted across different conditions and peform as professionals. So Aus suddenly find themselves with wealth of one format options in Meredith et al and India doesnt. India solely depends on home platforms like SMAT and Vijay Hazare. Manpreet Gony is a prime example. He could have been our Thisara Perera and now he is plying his skills with veterans.

Bumrah was bowling cracking yorkers one after the other even in IPL 2020.

Rabada is a good death bowler too.

So were Akram and Garner.

In the last 35 years, most top test match pacers have been good ODI pacers too.

Hope Varun C grabs opportunity with both hands ..

he already wasted opportunity with both hands. First injury then fitness..
