About time Thakur gets the respect he rightfully deserves

There are some self proclaimed geniuses here who trolled shardul but were over rating saini.

I have always been behind thakur since day 1.

GUy is a clean hitter and also an organised bat if given chances... one of the genius here was saying he is nothing but a slogger. Rightly got called out after brisbane innings.

I also got ridiculed gor saying shardul was better than Saini.

Guess what geniuses, who's where now?

Dear Bread Pitt..

appreciate shardul's performance. But as a fast bowler if Saini is backed as much as Shardul, Saini would give better results.

Saini is as fast as Mark wood or a shade slower. I have faced fast bowlers bowling 125 to 130K and it is difficult to see the ball even at 125 to 130K by domestic batsman. International batsman can kind of see /watch the ball well upto 140K.

faster than 140 K is more of a Guess work while batting.

i faced a 6 3" fast bowler who was regular for few cricket clubs in Mumbai, he used to say he bowls 125 to 128K regularly . I opened the batting and he bowled a yorker , when I put the bat down, my hands trembled and my bat felt shivers. i got clean bowled off the third ball. this bowler bowled 4 overs continuously and got 6 wickets.

As a fast bowler Saini is definitely better than Shardul.

In t20 batsman give wickets , Please do not read too much on the success of pacers in T20. it is because of run rate pressure .

Bumrah IShant Shammi Umesh and even Saini are better fast bowlers than Shardul or hardik. BHuvi is a swing bowler so he is a great bowler under swing conditions.

Nattu is a yorker master and may be thats why he coud be a big success in T20 or odi, but that does not mean he is a better bowler than SHAMMI , ISHANT, BOOM, SAINI.

In T20 Trick Pacers can also Succeed.

Mark wood , archer are better pacers than Shardul and Hardik. That's the truth. if shardul gets 5 wickets , that does not mean shardul is better.

even on his day STuart Mottu Binny also got 6 wickets against bangladesh- dont get excited just on bowling analysis.

he won few matches for :csk: as a batsmen as well by shielding thala :giggle:

that’s how Thala develops players. By letting them take all the prezzure.

the moment he sees dangerous bowlers like Bhuvi,Axar,Sandeep Sharma and co. He will return the favor by protecting these batsmen

Speaking of Thala, The funniest thing was in the WC match against Bangla.

There was this Bangla Trundler (not their Capt) and Thala refused a single to DK

Yes that DK who has the most famous cricketing video on the internet against Bangla  trundlers.

Dk’s face was gold when Thala rejected the single

Nice civil reply. Tx.

Now on to the point. What performance has he shown to be called a good prospect? In ipl he avgs 45!! With economy of over 8..in short odi career avg over 75 with economy over 6.. In test matches we saw how he lost pace after one spell..

Consistently bowls 2 poor bowl every over no matter the format..he will never be a good bowler unless he sort that out and it's already getting too late as he is pushing 29

He looks like a fast bowler but the output is really ordinary.

Shardul as a package player is always better than him.. Any format. The guy took 7 wickets in Brisbane man...

See I am in Mumbai and Shardul came from Palghar, worked hard to succeed. Hats off to his efforts. actually he used to bowl 137 to 144k when ZAK appreciated him. Once zak talked highly about him, he was considered.

But then he gained in a little more weight, slowed down to become a 130 to 140K bowler. even in his first test as soon as he tried his bit to bowl fast, he injured himself.

he did two good things- first as many mumbai bowlers, he focussed hard on his batting. then he learnt knuckle ball, slow ball and even a bit of swing. so now he is actually competing with Hardik as an all rounder, all round deal.

saini has zero fat on his body, he is an exceptional talent who has cranked upto 150k. he had fitness issues in australia so he should not have been played in tests. but since other pacers were injured ,he was played- he under performed.

wait n watch, if indian selectors support him, Saini will Rock. its start of his international career.

shardul has just 2 more years left in international career. his fitness is good but not excellent. He has to compete with shammi, bumrah, Prasidh, saini, umesh ,shivam mavi , even ishant will be available for 1 year mostly, avesh khan, accurate Siraj khan and t20 specialist pacer Nattu. even Bhuvi.

he is getting lucky because he is as on today an All rounder, a Pace all rounder.  i feel hardik is jealous of him.

i back him to do well as shardul is a better pacer than hardik. hardik is a better batsman and a better fielder. i support him.

As an Opening batsman, I would be ready to face 135k bowling ( even with a bit of swing) as against fearsome 144k- 147K bowling.  I have experienced myself , my eyes cannot watch or see balls thrown faster than 130K too...whole world is in search of 145K + Pacers because of this specific reason.

having said that Swing bowling is phenomenal and difficult to face as well, but the new ball swings only for 3 to 4 overs , opening batsman need to be extra watchful during that tme and they can negate the swing.

Praveen Kumar was one level higher than BHUVI when it came to swinging the new ball. He had a fine International career for India but Srinath succeeded much more than him. Sandeep Sharma is also a great Swing bowler but is he good enough for International India team- No.

What a cricketer. A complete cricketer. Would have been the next Kapil Dev if he had him

in the 90’s.

Great team guy as well and not a prima Donna. Make him vice captain right now.

Ab zyaada ho raha hai..., yes he's the most improved cricketer in the Indian Team, and has played really well in the Aussie Test series, also a very handy batter down the order, So after a couple of good games seedha Kapil Dev,  Vice Captain? Who's not respecting Thakur?

Today everyone is, next game a couple of bad overs and then let’s revisit this question.

The agarkar comparison is fitting, though agarkar was a better bowler and fielder than him. Shardul is definitely a better batsman, has natural ability to time the ball. In that era when we were hungry for a seam bowling all rounder and only had Robin Singh to look to he would have had as much pressure as Agarkar to become a proper all rounder.
