Hanuma Vihari will be playing for the English county team Warwickshire this season

He has problems against bounce and maybe even speed but I think in English conditions he can still do well.

A county stint always helps, this is the exact reason why our team of 2010s fail against england while a lesser talented Indian team in the 80s used to perform better.

Our batsman used to score heavily on seaming tracks when they played county. At that time the problem was pace and bounce nowadays the scenario is reversed.

I am A bit confused why Pujara was chosen in IPL and Hanuma with his ability to bowl few overs wasnt. Anyways county season definitely helps..

Even the 2000s team was better. Between 1996 to 2011 India toured England 3 times

1996 : Ganguly Dravid debut. We lost 1-0.

2002: Fantastic tour: Drew 1-1. Lost in Lords after scoring 400 in fourth innings.. 2nd test in Nottingham we were basically leading with 164 runs and we could have easily set them 200 for victory in 4th innings if we had time. Ball was spinning.Mauled England in Headingley In 3rd test. Ganguly dravid tendulkar scored runs for fun.. plus Bangar

.4th test both teams scored 500 plus in Oval and it was a draw.

2007 We won 1-0

its From 2011 Wheels turned and you are right county does help. One of the main reasons Pakistan has done well In England is half their players play county..

Yea. Current India has insane potential but they don't prep well for England tours. They seem to only prioritise Australia and s Africa to a lesser extent.

Srini mama goodwill it was. Vihari was picked by DC last or may be a season before. If ur batting cant get u a place that bit of extra bowling is irrelevant

Great move. Vihari will be in the squad definitely and the first in line to get into middle order if Kohli or Rahane is not available. I would have liked Pujara, Gill and Mayank to play as well as that would have prepped them up for the conditions. Unfortunately Mayank is indispensable for his IPL team . Gill and Pujara will also be tied down even if they are not the best fit for that format.

How do we prioritise south africa?

Good for him. The guy looks humble, seems like hard worker in the mold of Puji. Showed good grit in Sydney. He was one of the reasons we did not lose that day. When he is in flow, he looks good. He needs to deal with the short ball better.
