Will there ever be a batsman like ABDV?

A combination of power and range. Can bat anywhere, on any pitch, with any strike rate. Could strike at 300 if he wanted, or strike at 50, according to the situation. Could bat in all formats of the game . As a bonus, could keep wickets and field well, as well.

Only downside, he choked under pressure sometimes , but that is due to his SA genes.

Does well in IPL but has been ordinary in T20i. His average of 40 in IPL drops significantly to 25 in T20i and also his strike rate of 152.67 in IPL drops to 135 in T20i.

His range of shots is well complimented by good hand eye corodination and ability to make mockery of field placementa.

A quality batsman in tests and ODI but has choked in important matches in ODI and has been average in T20i.

He did pretty fine in 2015 WC semi though which is an ODI match.

He is the best 3 format player of all time just a freak

if not for cricket, he would have been a star in rugby or football if I remember well

And tennis and swimming as well. He is an elite level athlete capable of doing well in multiple sports.

Not ordinary in T20s at all when you consider playing for and in SA

In the 2010s:

Whichever team he has played for whether SA or IPL, he has been a standout performer for it ... He can easily avg more if he does not push himself, plays 20 balls first before trying to get going, tries to remain not outs, and so on

His strike rate is 135 in T20i. Nothing extraordinary in it. Neither has he won T20i cup for SA.

Gayle has strike rate of 140. Gayle scored more runs per ball than AB did at international level.  Gayle was also one of the reason why WI won T20i cup. SA has won none.

Apart from Gayle, Warner also scores more runs per balls than AB in T20i.

Pollard too must be scoring more runs per balls than AB.

How about Maxwell sr. Surely must be better than AB.

Jos Buttler also has better sr.

Eoin Morgan, KP scored fatser than AB in T20i.

Jonny Bairstow too scores more runs per balls than AB.

I guess Pandya must also be having better sr than AB.

Guptill ?

Sehwag?

Yuvraj Singh ?

Yusuf Pathan ?

Atleast 13 batsmen listed above have better strike rate than him.

Some of them helped their teams win the T20i cup. Probably few more batsman with higher sr if we consider T20i. And more importantly having helped team to win T20i cup by playing well in such pressure tournaments clutch matches.

Freak.....

It's a shame that the most talented ones are usually not the most dedicated or temperamentally strong, with this freak ability he should have broken all kinds of records .

In reality he averages the same as Younis Khan in test cricket.

Probably many more batsman with higher sr if we consider T20i.

Ppl know that:

a) When ABDV played most of his cricket, scores of around 160 used to be good (avg RPO around 8) esp. with SA's bowling attack

b) ABDV has the ability to bat both in the top (#1-3) and middle (#4-7) order (so shuffles around), while keeping wkts as well

c) ABDV is a good performer in most conditions

d) A team not winning a WC has nothing to do with how a batsman is rated (For e.g., you have put Warner in, when Aus has not won the T20 WC)

e) No SDP (Hardik), despite whatever his SR, is not better than ABDV

Need to synthesize info and look at various aspects before drawing random conclusions

Your conclusions are random. Check the strike rate of 13 players who have better strike rate than AB. They have played clutch knocks and helped team win like in case of Indian, England and WI cricketers.

Gayle, Sehwag, KP, Pollard, Morgan, Yusuf Pathan , Yuvi played in same yeara. Some even earlier.

And yes, it makes hell lot of difference if your team wins.

I would say he is good T20i batsman but not the best to have played T20i and leave it at that and I have been very specific with the names of those who had scored / are scoring faster than him. More importantly having played a hand in winning T20i trophies doing that.

Agree to disagree though.

He is among the best in any format

Boult, Bumrah, etc are among the best T20 bowlers without winning any WC trophies

Too many random points in your posts, including those that cancel your own arguments
