Clarke Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 (edited) Vaccine manufacturers would supply 50% of their monthly Central Drugs Laboratory-released doses to the Government of India and would be free to supply the remaining 50% doses to state governments and in the open market. Manufacturers would transparently make an advance declaration of the price for 50% supply that would be available to state governments and in the open market, before May 1. Based on this price, state governments, private hospitals, industrial establishments etc would be able to procure vaccine doses from the manufacturers. Private Hospitals would have to procure their supplies of Covid vaccine exclusively from the 50% supply earmarked for other than Government of India channel. Private vaccination providers shall transparently declare their self-set vaccination price. The eligibility through this channel would be opened up to all adults, i.e. everyone above the age of 18. The division of vaccine supply - 50% to Government of India and 50% to other than Government of India channel would be applicable uniformly across for all vaccines manufactured in the country. However, Government of India will allow the imported fully ready to use vaccines to be entirely utilized in the other than Government of India channel. Government of India, from its share, will allocate vaccines to states/UTs based on the criteria of extent of infection (number of active Covid cases) and performance (speed of administration). Wastage of vaccine will also be considered in this criterion and will affect the criteria negatively. Based on the above criteria, State-wise quota would be decided and communicated to the States adequately in advance. Second dose of all existing priority groups and population above 45 years, wherever it has become due, would be given priority, for which a specific and focused strategy would be communicated to all stakeholders. https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/covid-vaccination-phase-3-indias-new-vaccine-drive-from-may-1-five-key-points-2417285?pfrom=home-ndtv_topscroll Edited April 28, 2021 by Clarke beetle and BacktoCricaddict 2

How is private 50% other than Govt quota going to be regulated? They can set any price and sell anything as vaccines with no government/CDC-like control. Edited April 19, 2021 by coffee_rules

No they can't in case of expensive price they can be tried and brought under law, remember this is pandemic and any such act is deemed criminal

mishra Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Corporate world is ready to buy it at any price. Few companies i know are attempting to secure it exclusively for their employees. Our company has told employees to get it at any price if they can, we will reimburse it.

Obviously, they can't wait for the workers to return to the cramped offices where the # of hours can be monitored rather than just look at actual performance & outcomes.

R!TTER Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 It will be a mad rush from May 1, they really should've started mandatory vaccinations months earlier!

No. It should have started earlier but not from beginning. The order chosen was correct and nobody saw this variant causing havoc till one week back. People are only rushing For vaccines because now they fear the virus. Plus it’s appointment based. You can’t simply rush at the centre.
R!TTER Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 Just now, ravishingravi said: The order chosen was correct and nobody saw this variant causing havoc till one week back What variant? if you're talking about the double or triple(?) mutation then that's not the only reason cases are exploding here. 1 minute ago, ravishingravi said: People are only rushing For vaccines because now they fear the virus. And they were taking it lightly just a month back, including some in the govt, the only thing that works here is danda!

But you have to understand that there is a lot of vested interest wanting this vaccination to fail. From big pharmaceutical to opposition to Lutyens. They are still trying. Its 4 D chess game happening. In India, you have to go slow and Steady with our complexity. ash 1

Cricketics Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I am wondering how many people in this age group will be scared to turn up to get vaccine (rightly so). People are too scared to go out, which is good and same migh remain even if vaccine is available. I think in a way itnis good because many might wait to get and by then more vaccines would/should be available by may 15. ravishingravi 1
