He is picking up wickets in buckets consistently in every match. He is the primary reason RCB started with 4 b2b wins.
Has got a firm hold on purple cap.

What next for him? Is he ready to take over his skillset which seems to work to team India in T20Is.
Do you see a good international career opening up for him given that he is giving all these magnificent performances under King Kohli.

This. All IPL successes should be made to play a  season or more in the A team before being considered for India cap.

So special that at 30 years he hasn't played an international game.

Basically his main USP  is Slowing the pace . This novelty works till batsmen gets hang of it .

Undercutter did very well in one season and then batsmen started getting after him , same goes for Kaul .

Such guys generally pick up cheap wickets during last 3-4 overs of the match .

Not sure if he can sustain this mystery for next season too.

Was today the death knell of the Harshal Patel myth?

4 overs 53 for 0.

Harshal helps fielders feel relaxed knowing that when he is bowling the ball will either sail over the ropes or be hit in a gap comfortably :dontknow:

He ll need to keep evolving , bravo was someone who kept this up for a quite a few years. He ll need to add more variation, use or crease and make his seam bowling more stronger. And ofcourse landing of the yorker has to be at natrajan level or else jadeja episode will happen again n again

did you see Bravo when he started? He was touted as a world class batsman who could bowl. Lara was his mentor and rated and helped both Bravo brothers.

He has taken apart world class bowling with the bat in tests cricket as well.

So Harshal being Bravo level or even slightly better than him is of no use unless he can contribute at that level.

Bravo as a bowler is worthless. He is a fantastic batting talent. Actually a better comparison would be Pandya. Batting talent + competent bowling.

Harshal’s batting and bowling doesn’t merit a spot in Indian line up. You need to have at least one skill that sets you apart. His bowling is not good enough to merit a spot in the line up nor his batting is something that is must-have in the current side given the resources we have.

what I meant to say is having a guy like Bravo for bowling alone is pointless.

If you have a guy in domestics who has that level of batting talent and can bowl even 50% of him then by all means hype him.

We already have a guy and his name is Pandya and the fact that he is the only guy in that Bravo ball park is what is helping him out with not having much  accountability and long rope.

Happy for an industrious domestic cricketer like Harshal though and happy that he will make some good money for a few years in IPL. That’s about it.

Those are my views.
