I think if BJP is serious about Bengal they have to play the same game to get to power. Then it’s simple matter of NRC to undo voting rights of illegal migrants and even the balance for political power. Off topic.

If they can flip Assam , they can do WB as well. Unfortunately, they will lose a lot of karyakartas in the process

We have never been so hopelessly divided. Even in the time of a pandemic, we are at each other's throats over everything. Even over things that don't concern us.

Previously, during the Uttarakhand floods or the Tsunami Indian political/socially active class as a whole rallied around to help w/o the viciousness and the whole shifting the blame that I see now.

Just to put things in perspective 4215 Indians died of Covid just yesterday. 1 unfortunate Indian woman was killed by a terror rocket attack in Israel.

And here we are taking sides.

That politico you quoted has a responsibility to his constituency in Blr. And Blr is seeing a surge of cases over the last one week. Yeah sure his tweet is going to help Israel win in its struggle. I have never understood why the Indian Hindu right wing sees India as some natural ally of every country in the world where there is a conflict with Muslims.  Israel, France etc. These guys have been dealing with their own problems and issues for ever. More over some of these posts are in general anti Muslim. Yeah, good reason to spill some more bilge against Muslims in India because of some conflict in a far flung appendix of the world.

The Muslim right wing is even more retarded than the Hindu right wing. They'd damage public property  in India over what a French President says but would *never* fight to better the lot of its own people. AIMPLB litigated *against* scholarship for Muslim girls in certain institutes of higher learning because they are co-educational.

I feel we are just doomed.

As for Swara Bhaskar, some of you guys attach far too much importance to what she says. That photo could be outside a land fill in Govandi or where ever for all you know. She is not a thought leader for anyone. She's played you guys well by riling up people and you give her few seconds publicity she doesn't deserve.

Yam's best post til date.... if we could all have some introspection, we could eliminate much of our flaws

It's like the Mahabharata.

Even if you are not directly involved, you'll get dragged in, simply by association.

We can't help getting dragged into the Israel Palestine conflict. But we can play it smart and limit our exposure.

We have way too many pressing issues at home to be able to spare bandwidth over what's going on in the middle east.

The liberal backlash is proportional to the amount of Hamas terrorists killed, mind it!

In that case expect more tweets from them as Israel keeps pounding Gaza with more attacks. This is predictable and one sided as most know Isreael cannot be challenges and beaten by such a weak and meak attackers. It's a matter of time about how much retaliatory damage Israel may have decided to do and when they push the stop button. If Hamas keeps on the fight, it will take a huge toll on Gaza. It is such a one sided fight after all.

This is going to be a full scale war. There was recent news of Palestine suffering from an upsurge in Covid numbers and Israel is using it as an opportunity to press their advantage.

This is a perfect example of why states can and should strive to be as powerful as possible and the liberal fantasy of an international order based on law is useless. Even a pandemic will not stop enemy states from pressing their advantage.

Israel seem to have started to act against terrrorists by using ground force as well as support from air. Already many top rise buildings, bunkers in Gaza have been destroyed by Israel. Moreover, the army on ground is advancing to capture more of the terrrorists as well as control over terrorist bunkers and land. Israel has gained so much in this clash with terrorists, who are now running helter skelter to avoid the troops on ground and firing from air. It's getting more one sided every passing minute. Other countries are playing it diplomatically as Israel continues to do what it wants. There is no support whatsoever for Palestine apart from tweets and internet slogans.

when a country was created from an idea emerging from that part of the body, it’s no surprise that the same country produces so many...

Meanwhile. Look at the west liberals banning criticism of Veena’s tweet because of Islamophobia

Facebook Bans Jewish Professor for Denouncing Pro-Palestinian Hitler Tweet

If that jewish professor got banned for a such a harmless facebook post then wow. It only exposes the cowardice of Silicon Valley.
