Who are some of the most technically sound batsmen that you have seen?

It can difficult to pinpoint considering batsmen can play differently in different formats (orthodox in one, unorthodox is other). Form plays a role too. But if talking about tests in general, from the top of the mind recall, it would be likes of Tendulkar, Kallis, Amla, etc.

I do not watch much test cricket now (many cricketers play many formats so some technical faults may creep in) but will go with likes of Root and Kane ... could add Pujara as well? :hmmm:

The batsmen that I tend to like usually are a bit unorthodox and not necessarily technically the best ... Even Sir Don Bradman, for e.g., is not considered to be great for technique/orthodox cricket

Going per country.

Main sequence batting teams: higher grade of technicality

IND- Dravid ( Sachin comes next to him, haven't seen Sunny folks who saw claim he is ahead of both these comfortably )

Aus - Ponting (M Hussey comes next, Hayden feels lesser than these two)

SA - Kallis ( Amla comes next, AB and Smith feel lesser)

ENG- Cook ( KP comes next to him, Trott was with them for few seasons)

NZ- Kane ( Astle comes next)

WI-Lara ( never saw Lloyd or greenidge with awareness, Lara seems better than Haynes)

SL - Sanga ( Desilva comes next)

Lesser batting teams: major team but slightly relaxed technical ability

Pak- Yusuf ( Younis next)

BD- Sakib ( Tamim comes next)

Minnows - best in their countries probably won't make top 20 in major countries, exception of Morgan ofcourse.

ZIM- Brendan Taylor ( yup ahead ofAndy Flower)

IRL- Eoin Morgan ( Stirling comes next)

NED: Ryan ten Doeschate

ABDV and Kallis they had this classic back and across  technique which is now rarely seen in modern day cricket.Sachin also was very good. Dravid had  weakness against bounce, he was good against swing but he was very suspect against pace. The greatest strength of Sachin was his adaptability.
