Prior to the WTC match, there were many threads discussing what India's bowling attack should be.  There were many opinions, but almost everyone agreed that Siraj must play.  In hindsight, that has proven to be true.  But, in whose place?

Answer the poll question and post your reasoning.

I picked Bumrah:

He was coming back from a pretty difficult injury and had played very little cricket prior to this match.  Definitely rusty throughout - he was trying hard, but just not getting it right.

If he was not hitting the right lengths in the match, chances are he was not hitting the right lengths in the nets either.  TM should've seen that and rested him further and played Siraj in his place.

You know how obsessed management and brat is with pace so booms won't be dropped. Bumrah has pace.

But we cant drop bumrah. He is a maverick. When he clicks he is unplayable. We saw that in Australia. Also our useless fielders dropped several easy catches off bumrah. I recount atleast 5.

Would have easily averaged 23 instead of 28 in Australia.

Shami. Him doing well doesn't change the fact that he had the poorest record in England among the three pacers.

Siraj bowling with the new ball (and picking early wickets) would have made the other pacers a little more potent

Yea taking one or 2 will bring a few more as it builds confidence. Bumrah will be more effective that way. He isnt a new ball bowler.

We saw that even in Australia. He just doesn't know how to take wickets with the new ball.

Him and Archer are very similar.

Shami/Ishant

Bumrah was the least expected to botch it(he has failed in other occasions though, but come on even many here wouldn't have gone that far and dropped him)

If ever there is a poll who should walk into the first test xi

55-60% would still go with Bumrah, doesn't mean he is indispensable, this is just a psychological part
