Prabhdeep Singh Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 (edited) There's an article by Nasser Hussain describing Virat Kohli's team as ' Attack Dogs', I guess it is an improvement of when Nasser called Indian team fielders are like 'Donkeys' in 2011. However, I wonder which animals Nasser would use to Describe this pathetic England Cricket Team. Article from Daily mail UK. A quite dispicable article really. SRT100 Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 If India go with the same team in the 3rd Test, they did not learn from these mistakes. The batting lineup is weak and vulnerable. It got saved by the tailenders heroics. The game changes dramatically if England were chasing around 175 to win. Changing from Pujara and Ishant to Mayank and Thakur or Ashwin does NOT weaken this lineup but potentially strengthens it. Its a decent intimidating batting lineup that bats to number 10. 3 pace bowlers and 2 world class spinners. Ashwin to the lefties is huge. Hitman KL Mayank Kohli Rahane Pant Jaddu Thakur/Ashwin Shami Bumrah Siraj Cricspin and Norman 2

Assuming seam friendly pitch and conditions of course,. yup, he gets to move the ball away which is always handy in test and his bowling becomes better in england conditions . Add his batting and that fight he has in him Ishant was getting better in 2nd innings last game and brings in a different dimension to this attack Ashwin- im a huge fan and i hve always liked one spinner in attack unless its a green mamba. Also the guy is at his peak and now england will have 4-5 lefties in next game Its a great headache, all great options....i just cant choose one all seems equally so good Acc to @Samcric headingly has been flat for a while now and i also believe england wudnt dare to give our great bowling a green track against their fragile batting.

They have a headache in front of them - if its on the flatter side, they know our batsmen can outbat them, AND our spinner(s) can come into play. Our pacers can reverse it as well. If its green, they run the risk of being shot out for a series losing score. My guess would be - especially if the rain stays away, they'll err on the greener side. Vijy 1

Lol u sure our middle order can help us out at them? I am not to confident. I am 100% confident in our bowling. We can roll out any side if we just have some runs on board. Or if someone picks a fight rofl with our key bowlers. Hopefully Andy starts something with booms again.

Just nudged him right? And then swore him.

MSD rarely looses his cool, but he was pretty angry that time, which I find unusual (and ominous). I think the incident was more serious than what Eng press claimed at that time, or even some of "our" websites like Cricinfo. express bowling 1

Thats enough for england, if a bowler can swing. Nice job bringing in raicsm though, Indians being racists are the ultimate uncle toms of the world. Such indians are currently being mocked all over the world, everywhere its claimed that if the topic of diversity or quota is brought up, some uncle tom indians would be the first ones crying and whining even before the racist goras. Imagine being a brown indian and always crying about diversity attempts or quota in other country which affects the whites. Never seen a worse example of boot licking or inferiority complex. Samcric Posted August 24, 2021 Author Posted August 24, 2021 (edited) Some good insights from David Gower on what to expect in Headingley and possible England team. Key points: 1. Weather will play an important role, if overcast, will swing a lot. If not, good to bat on. 2. More favorable for 'kiss the surface' medium fast swing bowler rather than 'hit the deck' fast. (Does this support Shardul's case over Ishant?) 3. On Ashwin, Spinners don't do that well, 2 spinners will be too many at Headingley 4. Expects Pope to replace Sam Curran. So Moeen at 8 and then 3 seamers - Robinson, Mahmood and Anderson. On the last point, Steve Harmison had a similar prediction on Cricinfo. Both Pope and Malan had extended nets. So seems like England may beef up their batting. They got out for 67 in the first innings in Headingley against Aus in 2019 so may still carry a few scars from that match. Lone Wolf Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Very much looking forward to this game. The break after that win at Lords felt too long. First test at Headingley since 2002 win Someone should Stat a match thread already Cricspin 1

SRT100 Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Cricbuzz seems to feel that Ashwin will definitely make way for Ishant. Feels like the only change with Pujara and Rahane keeping their place. Really need a double failure by Pujara to bid him goodbye. TM will get rid of them one at a time I feel.
