Popular Post Lone Wolf Posted September 7, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 7, 2021 Guy is almost 34 now.. Surprising but a bit sad. Always had the natural skill & built like a bull. One of the important reasons for our home dominance in last 5 years. Guy deserves his spot ahead of likes of Ishant in coming NZ home series & then in SA tour. It's about time now he gets some credit as well. QuarantineTormentino, Gollum, sorak and 7 others 1 9
rkt.india Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 At home, he is a must. Both him and Shami. Lone Wolf, Lord, Suhaan and 1 other 4
tweaker Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 It upto Umesh that he has not cemented his place in the playing 11 He is not consistent and can be exceptional one day and ordinary another day. express bowling 1

He didn't play a single test in SA/Eng & possibly NZ before 2018 - on what basis are you claiming this? While Kohli & Dhoni played their favorites & picked that l*** d*** almost every time they had the chance!

I think he showed great signs in Australia before getting injured. Could have been his series that one if not for that injury. Here in this game he constantly bowled tight & attacking lengths & extracted something outta dull pitch. Remained economical as well. I'll take him anyday over Ishant. His batting is decent as well lower down the order. In Fielding he has always been a good one to have. Cricspin, Gollum and tweaker 3
Adamant Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Ishant shouldn't be dropped, he had some fitness issue, just needs to sort them and he"ll be back to his best, even at lords he did a pretty good job. Samcric, Gollum, speedheat and 4 others 7
Suhaan Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 No,he should be rotated Apart from Bumrah all others blow hot and cold, long series each of them needs opportunity When India started yesterday he was bowling his usual leg stump line,it looked terrible express bowling and Norman 2
speedheat Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 He can't bowl with Duke ball ha Another zhandu ICF theory has been debunked.
ShoonyaSifar Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 First 25 tests, 65 wickets@39 Last 24 tests, 89 wickets@23. Outstanding improvement from Umesh. Didn't think he had it in him to do well in England. Norman, Laaloo, Mosher and 1 other 4
Lone Wolf Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 Bumrah is an all format asset.. Actually won't mind if he doesn't plays against NZ at home. Umesh Shami Siraj & Prasidh should get home games. Here's hoping Prasidh gets a debut in next game. AuxiliA, express bowling and Mosher 3
express bowling Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 (edited) Umesh should be rotated. Bumrah is the only specialist fast bowler who is a must in all important matches. Shardul is a must in tests outside Asia, for his batting cum bowling. Shami, Siraj, Umesh and Prasidh should be rotated. Ishant is done. Umesh is almost 34 and won't be good for long. We must develop new quicks by rotation too. Edited September 7, 2021 by express bowling Norman, AuxiliA, Mosher and 2 others 1 4

Shardul, with his swing and seam, could easily play even in home tests, if needed as the 2nd seamer (though ideally Shami and Umesh will be the preferred ones). He can easily bowl 84-85 mph consistently, doesn't look 100% fit while bowling right now

Ankit_sharma03 Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Wahi purani beemari, one match n jump to a theory. He has struggled for a considerable time overseas let him prove otherwise for a long time England is not a great batting side, he still was leaking at high eco Is he better then Bhuvi, Shami, Siraj......I wnt take him ahead of thakur for just bowling. Ishant n bhuvi are struggling with fitness doesnt mean they ll forever .................He aint gonna play ahead of all In India he is freaking good but outside wait let him do it for a long while , its just one game

Bumrah / Prasidh Rotate the quicks and develop bench strength in the pace department. This combo has 3 spinners, 3 pacers and batting till 8. Axar can come in as 4th spinner too. He shud be rested where we can do without him

In the last 3-4 years, Umesh and Shami have picked dozens of wickets with the new ball (within the first 15 overs) with proper swing and seam. Go and check the available videos if you didn't watch the matches.
