One T20WC too late… India is missing vital days of not having Rohit as Captain.

This is a smart move by Kohli… just before IPL starts because he very well knows, his captaincy will be questioned once RCB gets knocked out…

He probably will retire from the T20 after world T20 lol Anyway he skips a lot of T20 international matches. It is very late.

The fact that no other RCB player got selected for T20 WC team....shows Kohli dont have much clout in the team selections.

MD Dhoni's Indian team used to be filled with CSK players.

Only in test cricket Kohli has full freedom.

i think thats just overrated talk be it during csk or RCB or same will happen for rohit in MI

All of em deserved it

You think Mohit Sharma deserved it in 2015 WC team above B.Kumar/Ishant Sharma?

lol Fat chance.  They don't care about winning the IPL. They just need his star value.

What star value does a washed up batsman + perennial loser captain have? People are not fools. How long will they tolerate him?

Especially when his batting is in the pits and he is making it into the ODI team only because he is the captain.

Where are you getting this from? Lol

Atleast looks at the stats.

You don't really understand how franchise work if you think they won't die to have a player like him in their team.

Mohit's achievement. : Econ is 5.45 and 8.  He was not world class at all. No variation. Just slow, slower and slowest like king undercut.

Format Mat Inns Balls Runs Wkts BBI BBM Ave Econ SR 4w 5w 10w
ODI 26 25 1121 1020 31 4/22 4/22 32.90 5.45 36.10 1 0 0
T20I 8 8 138 185 6 2/28 2/28 30.83 8.04 23.00 0 0 0

yes , he did well in WC 2015 so the question of deserving ends right there

Bk n ishant were injured so he wasnt selected above them just was a replacement

he took 13 wkts at avg of 24 and was very good in outfield

RCB fans are the only ones that can escalate through social media.  I don't think that is happening. Being an ace batsman for a long time has earned him faithful followers. They back him.  If RCB were serious about winning atleast one IPL they would have replaced him long back.

My conspiracy theory says BCCI could be looking to get Kumble back as the head coach. Apparently Dravid isn't keen for the role. Kohli's offer to quit T20 captaincy could be a trick to retain at least the test captaincy even under Kumble.

Could be all cock and bull though.

Apparently a lot of seniors didn’t like his style of Daddy coaching. Not just Kohli. Taskmasters are not liked. We went from that to a cheerleader. Need someone who does both

I was talking of WC 2015. 5,45 is not bad ER at all.

Dravid?  or foreign coach.

Though this is just a token gesture from Kohli with not much impact, something's better than nothing. Hopefully he quits captaining in the other 2 formats also in the near future. He would be doing a huge service to long suffering RCB fans by also quitting IPL captaincy after this season.

From my pre-conceived biases mainly.
