Uthappa was a quality player, did well in the first t20 world cup, his style of play was way ahead of his time back then, he could power hit without loosing shape, unadkat never a ipl star, same with tewatia, guys like gill, Shaw, ruturaj, Shreyas, Siraj, chahal, Kuldeep, paddikal, Rana, avesh, Sundar, rayudu, prasidh would walk into most international teams bar India offcourse and England.

the problem is the format. everyone is in denial. unless it's a last over nail-biter it's utter rubbish. IPL gives you well matched teams by spreading the worlds best evenly. like WWF

International cricket is highly skewed. Huge gulf between top tier teams and other teams. And that too among hardly 10 proper teams.

thats not a quality issue but the fact t hat india can field 11 players max.

 

those 3 are way better than lots of players from the associates and weaker teams.

This is a result in any sport where professional leagues pop up and more Cash starts circulating in. 

 

You can build a "Dream team" with money and naturally as more Oil, Corporates etc owners start getting involved you will have these heavyweights competing against each other.

 

In National sides you have to make a team with what you have. You can't buy "Stars" or what "Fits" in the team.

 

Uefa Champions League Final >> Fifa World cup (In terms of quality)

 

Same trend will now follow for Cricket as well...

India has 3 teams worth of good players and plays one team. Then Eng say they have 2 teams worth they play 1. Then Aus NZ and half the teams from WI and SA. Rest are mediocre sorrounding 1 or 2 good players. In IPL all Indian good players with very good players from Eng Aus NS SA and WI  along with top rung from SL BD AFG play. IPL has better talent pool only ones missed are the good domestic players from Eng  and may be Aus and few good players from Pak that's it. 

 

IPL will always have better quality than world cups can't help it.

also as indian cricket infrastructure keeps growing domestic talent will grow too. maybe a time will come when people won't even play 4 foreigners.

This has been a very predictable T20 WC with teams bossing other countries ranked below them. It can still pick up, but looks unlikely at least until the very end, maybe (a big maybe at that).

I think a lot of Indian players are just below our International players or at par. Apart from Shaheen who is in form of his life, We havent seen any player not part of IPL, doing anything extraordinary 
 

We must remember that Shaheen is showing this class because his arms are fully rested. Has Kiwis  visited Pakistan, who knows what he would have done after the series.

 

Our Agarkar was one of the bowlers to reach fastest 50 wickets in odi cricket. So a series can not decide that Shaheen is a loss to IPL.

 

as far as matches and reults are concerned in this t20 world cup, they are boring for exactly this reason.

Don't mix nationalism with cricket. Expansion of IPL indirectly mean BCCI's dominance will increase. If Sri Lanka and Bangladesh earn 1 paisa, BCCI will earn 3 paisas. Moreover, it's BCB and Sri Lanka cricket gaining, and not their countries. It's not like they don't earn outside cricket.

I dont think they deserve 0.5 paisa.

The idea of including SL and BD teams in IPL is interesting but there are many problems.

 

It will require an even bigger window. There are 10 teams already. ICC won't like it. 

 

BCCIs monopoly over the IPL will be compromised. The SL and BD boards will do a hard bargain over revenue sharing. BD and SL economies are anyway only equivalent to that of a state in India. We might lose more than what we might gain. Much easier and financially safer to expand in India first. 

 

Add to that other Asian boards are even more corrupt and inefficient than ours. There maybe political issues too.
