I want to see a match between Say Bongs vs Aussies or Sl vs England or Windies vs Aussies where lesser ranked side is chasing on fresh pitches. zen Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 (edited) If you bat first, you have to score big. For that you need batsmen who can take the game away by putting around 200 on board. If the mentality is to get to an avg score, it is probably a waste of time ... Par score is a score that gives a team 2/3rd chances of winning the game. Ind team could be confusing avg score with par score. Btw, the "accurate" average score should be the average of winning score by teams batting first. Ind and SL scored 150 odd and lost, now if the data says avg score is 150 and if teams aim for that, they are likely to lose. If teams winning by batting first are scoring 180-190-200, the "avg" should be seen as 190 (and not 150). Edited October 28, 2021 by zen Jay 1

So if you score 180 Plus in day game you have a much better chance of winning than if you score 180 In night game with dew. At least one extraneous factor is eliminated.

BCCI will not even utter alphabet P of pitch without me lords England and Aussie saying it. ICC knows that if them two are at wrong end all hell will break like around quality and pitch process. Hence, so far, England and aussies have been batting first

Teams and players their can turn it around despite loosing toss or batting first on similar ground. Here we have a situation in so called peak of t20 world cup where we know the result even before the first ball has been thrown.
