The Realist Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Don't forget the epic collapses in Eng and Aus. Crap player and equally crap coach. Zero credentials or achievements. And Cheerleader won't be happy that his drinking buddy is going solo.
Norman Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Our batting has gone to dogs under this freeloader. Rohit and Kohli aren't anywhere near what they were in white ball cricket in 2019 and Pujara , Kohli and Rahane are playing like tail enders in Tests. Pandya has become a one dimensional hack, Rahul has become a tuktukiya and our tail enders are as bad as ever. So, no thanks. nevada, Cricspin, Vijy and 1 other 4

Rantzz Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 This guy was epitome of tuk tuk during his playing career i would rather have Raydud as batting coach
vvvslaxman Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Never seen an Indian side that is so woeful against spin. This guy wants to continue as a coach? I mean 36 all out 78 all out Isn't that enough not to hire him again? beetle and Vijy 2
diga Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Question is , do we need a separate batting coach with Dravid most likely to be the head coach? nevada, beetle, Vijy and 1 other 4

When the dust has settled on this WC, i will remember the last 18 months as some of the best cricket we ever played. The problem is we picked the same side for T20 I understand where you are coming from but even in tests our batting has been vulnerable. Despite our bowling sucking badly in the WT20 no one is pointing fingers at Bharat Arun because we all acknowledge his contribution in establishing this bowling unit in tests and doing wonders for our fast bowling. This is not just as a coach but he has been working with likes of Siraj,Saini,Thakur etc at a A team level too. He has been picked personally by Shastri because as a head coach he probably has the head part covered but he doesn’t know a thing about coaching or has any qualifications. Our fielding has been poor and we are still scratching our heads why this Sridhar guy is still around and even picked over Jonty Rhodes. Now coming to batting we scored our lowest score in England, our lowest ever score in Australia- 36 and 78. That was enough for someone to be held accountable. Not to forget the collapses from match saving or winning positions. You are right about Pant,Rohit,Rahul etc but that was freak performances and individual brilliance. I don’t see any coaching contributions there. On the flip side with bowling I can see a clear plan especially overseas. At home any spinner can turn the ball and wrap up the tourists. That’s why you don’t see bowlers running away with 5frs and 6frs overseas because we can see the bowling performs as a unit with a plan and the skill to execute the plan. Rathour might not be as bad as we think he is but there isn’t anything significantly stellar under him either. Needs to go. diehardpacer and Vijy 2
The Realist Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Rathour: India opened with Ishan Kishan as 'we didn't want too many left-handers in late middle order' "How things went was that Surya was having some back spasm the previous night," Rathour explained. "So, he was not fit enough to be in the playing XI. So, the person coming in was of course Ishan. And Ishan has done really well as an opener in IPL and in the past for the Indian team as well. And about who takes the call - it was the whole management who sits together and takes this call and of course, Rohit is part of that group. "So, Rohit was of course part of that discussion, which tactically made sense having a left-hander upfront because we didn't want too many left-handers in the late middle order with Ishan, Pant and Jadeja. So, tactically it made sense and that guy has batted well at the top of the order." https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/t20-world-cup-rathour-india-opened-with-ishan-kishan-as-we-didn-t-want-too-many-left-handers-in-late-middle-order-1286774
Vijy Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 rathod has not been an impressive batting coach, IMO. while it is true that pitches everywhere are more bowling friendly, the batting avgs of most players since 2018 or 2019 is unbelievably poor and unacceptable for such a large country. add to that the manifold collapses against weak or moderate attacks
cricketfan28 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 3 more chances for rathour bhai, need massive wins
helperononline Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 His only achievement is improving batting of our tailenders like bumrah , shami
