Also news is that kohli suggested selectors should try younger captains (rahul for ODIs and Pant for t20s) instead of rohit who is 34, but selectors took it as him not being serious about relinquishing power

Unlikely  Bewada was batting for Rohit and we all know he parrots kohli.

 

Edit:  He wanted vice captain of ODI to be someone younger. Not the captain. So kohli will remain captain in ODIs?  bye bye world cup 2023.

Not expecting overnight changes in team composition. Maybe he thinks Rahane can be rewamped like Ishant after years of underperforming or just being cautious while settling down. 

 

If he & selectors persist with failures in the future then that would be business as usual.

This is where i have my apprehensions about him being incharge in LOIs too, would have been innovative on BCCI's part had they appointed on someone like McCullum/someone with modern LOI mindset for LOIs going forward, atleast to kick out some frauds out of this side

No coach will make drastic changes in his first series.. Its after South Africa series is when we may see changes in all squads. With Covid protocols, we anyway need a 20 member squad instead of just 15 and surely Rahane, Pujara will make the 20 for test team

Comparing a bowlers performance in alien conditions vs batsmen performance in home conditions Very logical lol NOT.  Ashwin averages 29 at home. Rahane 34.  May be that is comparison you should be talking about.
