javier26 Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 “The pitch will help the spinners from day one,” a Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) source told The Indian Express. “We are preparing the pitch looking at the home team’s strength.” For the first time since the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in March 2017, India are heading into the final match of a home Test series with the series on the line. World Test champions New Zealand maintained a clean slate in the first Test in Kanpur by the narrowest of margins and now have a chance to push for their first series win in India in 12 attempts. This is partly why they are likely to be confronted by a turning track at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, which will host the series decider from Friday onwards. The pitch will help the spinners from day one,” a Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) source told The Indian Express. “We are preparing the pitch looking at the home team’s strength.” While it will play to India’s strengths, a turner will only complicate New Zealand’s selection headache. In Kanpur, they had left out veteran left-arm pacer Neil Wagner, with his experience of 54 Test matches, to play a second spinner in offie William Somerville. https://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/after-no-result-in-kanpur-rank-turner-set-to-be-rolled-out-at-the-wankhede-7649691/ Hoping for a Great Match.
nevada Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 With Kohli back and his luck with the toss, we are going to risk an embarrassing defeat on home soil. It's better to get another draw on a decent wicket. Let the deadweight show some responsibility and lift the team up instead of dragging it down like leeches.
R!TTER Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Stupid *s all around - late declaration, No balls Sharma, Stiff neck & now this We never learn, do we Cricspin 1
Nikola Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 On turner we are giving better chance to opposition. If they bat first and put decent score we know how our batting lineup is struggling. nevada 1
Sandeep99 Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 After looking at Ajaz Patel and Somerville, I don't mind this. If it's another flat track, Kiwis might bring back Wagner and I'm scared of that proposition more. Anyway, who's going to score runs for India if it's a turner? There's no Rohit or Pant to bail us out..
Lone Wolf Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 (edited) Ash was struggling in last game.. He under performed heavily. We'll probably need this. But anyways if Kiwis win toss it will take some effort to win this game. Dravid will drop Mayank & save both Khujara & Rahane.. Add to that we got a dud Kohli. Edited December 1, 2021 by Lone Wolf

Adamant Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Perfect. King Kohli is back and so is the win at all costs mentality. Banton and Forever Indian 1 1
Trichromatic Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 India had beaten NZ on pace friendly tracks last time.
rageaddict Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 (edited) All of a sudden out of nowhere it has been raining in Mumbai since last couple of days. Can't afford to prepare another placid track if India has to win the match and the series. Edited December 1, 2021 by rageaddict
Clarke Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Imagine the worst case scenario: - Pitch doesn't turn much on day one but shows some signs with the odd ball behaving unexpectedly - Latham, Kane & co put up a fighting total, 350 or more - India bat on second day and pitch starts to turn more - Southee gets to reverse on day three due to abrasive pitch And then there were none
Frustrated Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Currently it's raining heavily in mumbai. And the rain is expected to last till Friday. Although intermittently. Not sure if we will get a full day's play on Day 1. Also, hoping that the rain does not play spoilsport in preparing the rank turner.
neel roy Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Anderson Southee Jamieson boult are the 4 bowlers we struggle against massively..out of these 4, 2 will play in mumbai along with duracel of short bowling wagner..only a fool will give us a green pitch.. what we need is just some bounce in the wicket..even flattish witth bounce is fine..we need bad pad leg gully slip in play which we didnt in last match and we still took 19 wickets dont forget
Autonomous Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 (edited) NZ looks like team to beat in tests. Deserving #1 Edited December 1, 2021 by Autonomous

First class Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 No one should buy a ticket for the 3rd day of this test match. Test will be done in 2 days, giving players much needed rest .
