What approach? Most of then got out defending, not playing shots. The only batsmen who scored were actually attacking

No England captain can choose to bowl first at Gabba due to history. Root would have really hoped to lose the toss here but his toss luck backfired on him today.

Toss on these wickets is very hard decision. MMQB is very easy, what would the same Hussain say if Aussies piled on runs yesterday. Famous Aussie saying If you win the toss, you bat. If you are in doubt, think about it, then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague, then bat".

Unless England grab early wickets, this has the potential to get real ugly for them.

Why do Aussies keep picking trash openers like M Harris.    The guy averages 22 in tests after playing 10 tests.   Isn't Ashes supposed to be a high profile event for them?

England been a bit unlucky, but some unforced errors too.  Slips a step too deep clearly for that Labu edge, and Stokes with that noball.

 

Still they have a chance to take a wicket or 2 before lunch.  But if they don't, they're going to lose this test match today.

Because pucovski is permanently injured. IMO they should have khawaja open - dude can do it, and do it well enough in tests.
