Dery Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 (edited) Obviously wont apply to those in lower divisions. Or atleast these 'fast' bowlers should have asterisk next to their names. Edit: Ofcourse I meant BCCI should perhaps trundlers in domestics Edited December 23, 2021 by Dery Vijy and Austin 3:!6 2

Rasgulla Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 yes everytime they bowl a delivery less than 125 their testicle should be cut off. This ll prevent them from bowling those kind of deliveries! Dery, rahulrulezz, sorak and 1 other 3 1

Adamant Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Shaun Pollock bowled 125 - 135 in the late part of his career and even at that time he was better than any fast bowler India ever produced. Asif bowled 125-135 and he is better than any fast bowler India ever produced. Philander bowled 125-135 kph and he is better than any fast bowler India ever produced. Alan Davidson bowled 125-135 kph and he is better than any fast bowler India ever produced. Keith Miller bowled 125-135 and he is better than any fast bowler India ever produced There should be a ban on posters who think that 135kph + speed is essential for test match bowling sorak and Austin 3:!6 2
deepdynamo Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I believe 135 is a cut off speed for International fast bowlers. Anything less that that and the bowler become condition specific. - Philander was mediocre outside green mambas. - Pollock was 150 to begin with and ended at around 132. On an average he was around 135 which was good enough. - Asif was a magician because he made the ball talk at 135 and not 130. - Kyle Jamison was menacing at 135 in NZ but harmless at 130 in India ( esp second test) - Mohammad Abbas started with bang in test cricket bowling at around 133-35 but as soon as he become a trundler at 125, he was toothless. So, Yes skills are absolute crucial but lack of pace will not compliment the skill and will limit the bowler. Ofcourse there will be exception like Vaas who had a long career but that has to do with lack of quality options in SL cricket. rahulrulezz, Mosher, Dery and 2 others 1 4

zen Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 (edited) Heading into the holiday season, I was unwinding myself from forums but always good to see a thread where I can post (such topics bring out the dictator in me). Some of the things that I do not prefer about India include: a) Pollution (no respect for the environment), b) Garbage (including turning rivers into sewers), c) Overpopulation (which is conveniently blamed for other shortcoming as if anyone gave India the licence to overpopulate in the first place), d) Chala hai attitude, e) Corruption, f) and the list goes on ... but in cricket - a) rank turners (turning pitches into garbage), b) average spinners roaring on it, and of course c) the tired trundlers - all of these display a lack of vision on how to play sports ... Yes, ban any practice that is mediocre (and that can hurt the region in the long term) Edited December 23, 2021 by zen Vijy 1
cricketfan28 Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 not possible , we will be forced to import bowlers from elsewhere.

Not a true great 2) asif got found out vs england and was getting tanked around by prior. Wouldn't have been long for other teams to figure his out at his trundling pace. It's an insult to compare him to guys like booms and shami. 3) rofl. Philander averages 45 plus in India and in most Asian countries. He is a joke of a bowler. Pure home bully or sena bully I should say. 4) don't care about the other 2 oldies who played in a totally different era with a different ruleset.

Pollock still averages 23 and is better than any bowler India ever produced and is definitely an ATG. Philander is great in Sena and UAE and in fact everywhere except Ind and Sl, that is better than any Indian bowler ever except Bumrah but he hasn't taken 200 wkts yet. Asif performed on proper flat tracks and also on green tracks even though he bowled 125, just bcoz you think he was worked out doesn't prove zilch, he still averages 24. The other two whom you dismissed were again great bowlers, doesn't matter if you rate them or not, nobody cares.
