Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane face demotion in central contracts

Even Grade B is too much for them. They have milked enough, boot them out!

 

Under-fire Test specialists Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara are all set to be demoted to Grade B from the Grade A category. Ishant Sharma is also likely to be downgraded to Grade B.

Why are they getting contracts to begin with? Why are they still part of Indian test team plans?

I wouldn’t mind giving them grade A pay if it means they will stay away from the Indian team.

Isnt your contracts based on how many matches a player plays in each format in the last 1 year.... ie they are backward looking rather than forward looking?
