With the upcoming Mega Auction (thread), which happens like once every 10 years (mini-auctions happen often) if I am not wrong, coming up, it is not only an exciting but also maybe even a nervous time of fans. Who knows when the next Mega Auction comes, many of us may not be posting here and/or could have found another interesting hobby. Since IPL is headed towards a new beginning, it is also a time to reflect on the most valuable player of the 2008-2021 period. Who is your pick? As for my pick, only one name flashes -> MS Dhoni. It is not just for batting, keeping, and captaincy but also for building a brand, managing a system, and creating an environment where most players look to play for CSK. I have been a MI supporter and I rate MI as probably the most professional franchise in cricket. You have the best brains working efficiently in the background that most things appear automatic. You can have a Rohit or a Pollard captain it and fans will not notice much of a difference. MI is a well calibrated system created by one of the most powerful business groups in the country. When I look at CSK, I see MSD's touch everywhere whether it is strategy, players selection, mentoring, or culture. Add to that his performances as a player with keeping, batting, and on-field captaincy. Many times fans have written off CSK but only to see it bounce back. The man has been with CSK since the inaugural IPL, constantly guiding the franchise. MSD is CSK or CSK is MSD. All of these make MSD the best investment ever made by any franchise in cricket (or maybe even in team sports)! Therefore, IPL's most valuable player of AT hitherto!! Looking just at cricket, I will go for Warner. For most of his peak, which was majority of IPL career, he scored briskly and scored big + consistent. Majestic Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 MS Dhoni followed by Rohit Sharma. Gayle, Pollard, Malinga and de Villiers also deserve a mention. So does Suresh Raina, Andre Russell, Rashid Khan and Dwayne Bravo. Dhawan and Kohli have been statisticians delight.

RCB is among the most financially successful franchises if I am not wrong ... As long as $$$ keep pouring in, RCB has nothing much to worry. This time Fleming picked him and benched him,right before WTC final,so that he can't play county
