If someone woke me up from deep sleep and said, "Chal ... uTh, all-time India team banaate hain ...", I'd be like:  "Pehle Pant ka naam likho.  Baaki kal subah dekhenge."

 

 

I don't care whether we win this match or not.  I don't care how many more runs Pant scores.  He is the most clutch-est test batsman India has ever produced.  Technique be damned.  Belly be damned.  T20 hoicks be damned.  Over and over again, he has rescued the team and schooled everybody on how to bat. 

 

The guy is a national treasure and no one can ever take that away from him.

Those Aus tour knocks, esp Brisbane, alone were enough evidence.  And he has only raised the bar since then.  No hyperbole is hyper enough.

In ODi he is getting good , in last 2 yrs he is avg 42 with a 100+ s/r

He loves deciders of the test matches more than anyone else.

 

1. Saved a test match and test series in Sydney 2020 and send terror waves to opposition while setting up a total in 4th inning vs India.

 

2. Produced a glorious win in Gabba 2020 by chasing down 328 in one day against a high quality bowling attack in a series decider.

 

3. Produced another great knock in a decider in Ahmedabad by hitting 100 vs England from 146/6.

 

4. Produced another great hundred in a decider in Capetown from 48/4.

 

5. And now in a decider in Edgabaston, he has again turned the tide from 98/5 with a fascinating 146.

I am so happy to see him perform like this.. My favourite cricketer since 2018 when he rocked that IPL season. Lost count the no of times I have defended him against brainless critics... Glad he is shutting all of them up

he is a clutch player

 

• scored runs in Wc 2019 semi (although ppl will say not enough , my answer- insaan hai insaanon wali expectation rakho)
• Was woefully out of form in IPL when Dc made into final and he scored runs in final 

 

Another reason i back him in every format, he is the kind of guy who can come good at such stage like gilly use to and on his day he can runaway with the game
