We'll be stuck with him for long time then. Will score in Asia.

Pant coming ahead of him itself tells how they rate him.

You perform against what is in front of you. If he performs like Bradman in Asia then you just  hope he develops better batting acumen and carries it overseas. Obviously tolerance will be a lot less for him based on his weaknesses so if he cashes on every opportunity he gets in convenient situations then you can’t hold that against him.

if you give another new guy a chance in Asia then what is the guarantee he will be better?

when you identify someone and bring him to the system, give him a fair chance. That’s the point I am making. It could be a trundler, a darter or a hack doesn’t matter.

Yeah I agree. My point is hes the wrong guy to begin with as we all know his problems. Its not likely that he'll improve so much to score overseas too. Is a specialist batsman so more is expected of him.You can tell who's got a more rounded game and then back him.

Vihari for example looked compact but has turned out to be too dour and meek so its okay to drop him now. But he deserved a go.

Iyer's big Test v will be Aussies even at home. If he does well there,he'd have justified his backing.

They go for like for like players, there is a problem

Dravid to Pujara to Vihari, all they eye is anchoring innings without scoring much

Iyer is trash,he doesn't belong in international cricket

Both Vihari and Iyer should be dropped. Iyer is struggling to score against trundler attack. What will he do vs 140+ kph bowler? He will leave those deliveries? But how long?

We need better batsman at 5, someone who can score lot of runs as this is a situation where pitches are generally flat. They should try Gill or Rahul at no.5.

Vihari

Kohli

Deffo should be axed

Thakur also borderline as resembles a tubby bits & pieces trundler who had a good year but regressed to his actual level

Siraj

Iyer

Both deeply unconvincing and seem to lack skillset and mental awareness for international cricket

Pujara - do you play him for longer but if so to what end given his age and one-dimensional game?

So many holes in this team it resembles the Titanic

The biggest issue in Indian cricket is the f##king pecking order. Vihari is playing because he was travelling around the world around as the sqauddy, Iyer and Gill had to do the same. So now when we lose a couple of batters they will get their chance. Same happened with Siraj and Thakur who had to wait for management to dump Ishant

Till then Sarfaraz and Prasidh will come and become the next squad option. And then few years later when someone else might be a better option, these two will get their opportunity. And the process repeats.

There are no dynamic selections made. Everyone has to wait for their turn.

Imagine if Sachin was not given a break at 16

the current selectors are stupid not to see people like SRK a straight draft into the team . Idiots didn’t even play bharat though clearly he is better than many of our stars .

  1. Iyer- If u cant play a 127k bouncer, u have no place in international cricket. Even Raina use get in problem if the bowlers were 140k+.  Also  we are yet to see a **** show of his against moving balls and it will be embarssing
  2. Vihari- hardly has ever looked comfertable and now he has had decent amount of chances

Problem is both of them can score heavy in home conditions n screw us big time overseas . Their home number will keep saving their spots
