India's approach to find an allrounder is flawed instead of grooming someone who is at least good in one department, they are trying to groom someone who is good in neither. rollingstoned 1
sandeep Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 how many drops today? DK dropped 2? Surya 1, Hooda 1, Axar .......maybe half a chance. Too many.

With any ball, let alone the actual cricket ball? its not that easy... True ,but I have seen dropping some real dollies in the past ,his reaction might not be the quickest .also chahal sways away in his follow up after the release of his delivery

Axar is a decent bowler, but not in T20 especially away from subcontinent where the ball doesn't grip.

coffee_rules Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 6 dropped catches for India, DK dropped 3 beetle 1

He got into the team as all rounder option. At that time , Pandya was unavailable. So, Hooda got that chance as a batsman and a sixth bowler. In this match, he is a seventh bowler but I think he can be used for an over or two against left handers Moeen and Curran instead of using Axar at that point.
Forward Defence Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Arshdeep should be given an opportunity to get a wicket. Bowled beautifully today.
maniac Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 actually I did Google the fielding coach Hyderabad's TK Diliep is the new Team India fielding coach. He will succeed his fellow Hyderabadi R Sridhar, who has stepped down along with head coach Ravi Shastri and bowling coach Bharat Arun. The 38-year-old had applied for the post and looked a strong contender. that’s all I could find. Hardly any info on Google. is this a joke @asterix @raki05 @The Realist @zen raki05, zen, rollingstoned and 2 others 5
Vivek92 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Hardik is a bit of a Maverick but class player when in zone. Key to our chances, please stay fit.
maniac Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Damn Pandya is definitely a full time bowler in English conditons. Always does well here.

The BCCI chose Diliep over Abhay Sharma who has been part of the India A and India Under-19 setups. He may not have played any first-class cricket but the 39-year-old is a BCCI certified Level III coach.
